I am fortunate to have had breakfast with Bob, Jim Sexton, and our wives on the Monday before he passed away. We all grew up in the same neighborhood and were lifelong friends. So many good memories, including pushing that old Plymouth on ice to get it started, to having him "remind " me for 55 years about my no-hitter he broke up when we were in Little League. Owney never had a bad word to say about anyone and seemed to meet life with a smile and a chuckle. I will miss him.

Carolyn
Bob and I had many fun times during our high school years, from playing baseball on the CocaCola Pony league team, to the time he stepped thru part of my dads duck blind that was laying on the drive way
It was also him that I had my first alcholic drink, shame on him, I must have liked it so Iam having one more for "OWNEY"
What a great guy, always a smile and a big hellow. Of course you already knew that.
God bless to a great guy and family

Dear Owns Family,
Our hearts and prayers are with you all. The last time we had the enjoyment of Bob's fun loving personality was during a short visit many years ago he made to the Phoenix area. What a gift to have hung around with Bob in our younger years. I am sure his life as husband and father was the best life could offer and you, his family will treasure those precious memories.
God Bless you all,

Dear Owens Family,
I was stunned and deeply saddened by the news of Bob's passing. I spent time with him at the SHS 50th reunion remembering old times as classmates, neighbors on old 10th Street, and later poker players. What a good number of laughs we shared. We send our deepest condolences to you. Bob ("Owney") will be missed and in our prayers.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of a good friend and member of our wedding party (over 40 years ago). We had good times together as young people and I will remember him as a fun-loving and generous
person. God bless his family.

You are in my thoughts and prayers at this time of your loss. Bob, was a wonderful man, and I was so glad to have the opportunity of seeing and talking with him at the reunion, and a few times during the past months. He always had a smile on his face, and a warm chuckle. He had a way of making you glad to be his friend. Bob, will truly be missed by his classmates, and friends in the SHS Class of 1958.

Bob and I were good childhood friends and I often thought of him through the years. I remember that when we were young and in grade school, I went on vacation with Bob and his family to Canada and the nothern states. Wish I had known where he was so I could have contacted him.
