Roberta Grove Obituary

SPRINGFIELD - Roberta D. Grove, 97, of Springfield died Saturday, May 12, 2007, at her home.

She was born Aug. 11, 1909, in Virden, the daughter of Oscar Julius and Eula Dorothy Shipp Dunnigan. She married H. Leroy Grove Oct. 14, 1939, and he preceded her in death in 1991. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Joann G. Dilts, in 2003 and by a brother, Virgil Dunnigan, in 2005.

Mrs. Grove moved to Springfield in 1914 and graduated from Springfield High School in 1927. She graduated from Brown's Business College and worked as a secretary for both Lincoln Life Insurance Co. and Northwestern Mutual Life. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by her son-in-law, Stephen Dilts of Denver; two grandsons, Dr. Stephen Dilts Jr. of Spring Grove, Pa., and John Dilts of Broomfield, Colo.; and three great-grandchildren, Thomas, Zoe and Evan Dilts, all of Broomfield.

Friends may call Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at St. John's Lutheran Church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services there at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. John Kelley officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park.
