Christopher Eastman Obituary

I had the honor to serve with GySgt Eastman in Iraq. He was an awesome man and Marine, thank you for your guidance and devotion to duty. Semper Fidelis Marine you will always be remembered.

Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Christopher and his family.

It is wonderful to come across this lovely tribute to my beloved nephew Christopher. He was truly a fine young man, the best of the best, no exageration. Be assured his family will be forever looking toward his empty place. Only the realization that he lived his life to the fullest while here helps counter the loss. His beautiful wife and 2 daughters are his greatest achievement, and his legacy. We all were blessed to have him, and the world has suffered a tragic loss. To all of you expressing your kind thoughts, thank you so much. Please keep his little family in your prayers.

I know there are no words to say at this time, except how sorry that I am. I truly feel your loss and pain. My thoughts and prayers are with you always. Christopher will never be forgotten.

I have so many things to see and do.

I gave to you my love, you can only guess, how much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown, But now it's time I traveled alone.

So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must. Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a time that we must part, So, bless the memories within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on, So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near, All my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone, I'll greet you with a smile and say,

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Gunnery Sgt. Christopher Eastman our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Chris. And to Chris it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing enemy forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Chris, you are a brave Marine Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.
