Words cannot express what you are feeling, only GOD can mend the brokeness you hold so deep within. Sgt. Brown's mission has been accomplished with great honor for his country. I pray that I will be able to make a difference before my time has expired on earth. His journey is very familiar to the journey of one man that came more than 2000 years ago to Calvary to save us all. Sgt. Brown was predestined to do this mission, and so was Jesus. Sgt. Brown was a part of the greater great and Jesus came before us all to teach us the way. Sgt. Brown was ready to take "IT ON", with such honor as the Holy Spirit gave utterance. Sgt. Brown was among the few good men to accomplish such an ending and with Jesus by his side, he shut his eyes and died.. I would like to take this time to thank him for his sacrifice for my life as an American. Thank the family for their sacrifice as well. Thank you for sharing a part of your family with us.
Remember a seed must die in the soil prior to the order of production to transpire. We must pick up where Sgt. Brown left off by upholding his mission on earth. Exemplifying his character of servitude. Leaving you with John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends".
My son was active military and died at the age of 19 years. I can identify.
Sgt. Brown will always be with you in spirit. I can assure you of this. I experience it often and it is awesome to know of love this way.

A loss is so hard to deal with, I know I lost my mom last year, but as time passes you will remember the things that made him smile, or the things that he did that made you smile. I wasn't blessed to meet Lerando or the Brown family while I still lived on the Coast but I know I would've found him to be an exceptional young man of the highest charachter. His loss in the duty to his country and the defense of freedom is tragic to his family and to our nation. I will remember his beautiful wife and wonderful kids as well as his many grieving family members, friends and fellow service members in my prayers. He is a genuine hero. My husband's nephew leaves for the Marine Corps in May and we pray he's befriended by someone as courageous, kindhearted and steadfast as Lerando as he serves his country.

I can't even imagine what you, you're in-laws and your step-son could possibly going through. I want you to know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. You will get through this, it may just be little harder to do than most things but you will do it, I believe in you. You have always seemed like a strong person to me. When my father was in Iraq we prayed everyday for his safe return and there are days you just don't know. Luckily we did have him come back to us but we will never forget those that didn't. May God Bless You, Sergeant Brown, for your dedicated service to your country. You have given the most ultimate sacrifice, and you will be greatly rewarded in Heaven, wrapped in the arms of God. I only wish I could have had the privilege to have known you and your wonderful family, but I plan to go to Heaven someday, and will try my very best to meet you then. There aren't enough words to say regarding the humility that I feel in my heart for your life which you have sacrificed for the good of this country. May God Bless your family also.

My 8 year old son asked me after watching this story "dad what happened to him" I said he died protecting our family, country and freedom we enjoy everyday! Sgt. Brown is a hero. I thank GOD for heros like him! We are praying for the family!

My deepest sympathies to the family of Sgt.Brown. I had the honor of working with him at the 155 Hiller Park Armory. He had a big heart and held his family dear. He was a fine young man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

As a member retired from the Mississippi Guard. We use a acronym that I think describes the Guard. it is T-G-I-F. which means The Guard Is Family. So from the guard family God bless you and your family

To the Brown Family, the Grace Temple Baptist Church Family will be lifting you up in prayer. We Loved Lerando, he was apart of us as well. This was truly an unexpected tragedy, BUT I rejoice in the fact that I WILL SEE HIM AGAIN! Right now he is safe in the arms of Jesus. We love you family.
