Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of George Delgado US Army Private First Class. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

To the family of Pvt. George Delgado:
Please know that just as your loved one remains in your hearts and minds; his sacrifice, and that of your family, remains with the people he died defending. Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for his bravery and selflessness, or the heartache we feel for your loss. God bless and keep you always.

Re: PVT George Delgado

Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 2,800 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand-made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

To Maria and family:

This was written by my son's aunt, after he was KIA in Iraq. I hope you will take comfort in it, as I was....of course with tears, too. This is what we want soooo much but it was not meant to be.

When you are ready....contact me.

One More Minute
By Sherrie Kemmerer

If God would grant me one more minute
So we could say goodbye
And try to put a lifetime
In a time too short to try
I dont know how to let you go
It hurts too much this pain
To know whenever I walk through our door
I'll never find you home again
If God would grant me one more minute
I guess I'd ask for two
I'd need more time to be with you
And a minute wouldn't do
I wouldn't know what to say though
Words can be such a useless tool
With so little time to share
Just two minutes would be cruel
If God would grant me one more minute
I would just keep bargaining for more
Until we had that lifetime
That was promised to us before
I know I have to let you go
And believe me, dear, I have tried
But if given one more minute
At least I could kiss you goodbye.

To the Delgado family,

I just wanted to send my heartfelt condolences to you on the loss of George. I know exactly what you are going through. My brother, SSG Chris Hake was with him the night they laid down their lives for our country. I know that words are never enough. I just wanted you to know that I am thinking of you and praying for you. They are my heroes and will never be forgotten.

To the Delgado family,

I know there are no words to say, except how sorry I am for your loss. May you hold Georges' memory in your heart and please remember he shall never be forgotten.

...For you every single soldier
Those who served so honorable
Your life was forever altered
While I’m home safe and free
I stand with grateful admiration
I stand respectful and so proud
I know I’m only a civilian
And I don’t even know if it’s allowed.

But I salute you; allow me the honor
to salute you with permission let me say
Even though I hold no rank know that from my heart
My humble gratitude comes from the deepest part.
I salute you.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know George, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

To the Delgado Family,

My family and I know just what you are going through, having been there just a year ago, now.

We have eaten at your wonderful restaraunt, talked with you on a couple of occasions, never knowing that we would both be part of the 'Gold Star Family'. Just know that our hearts and tears are with you now and forever.

May God be with you, later on this day, while you give your son's body to God and the good earth that He provided for that purpose.

Matthew 6:20-21
"Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.....for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also"

Our sons are our treasures and they will wait for us until it is our time to see them again.

God Bless,

A Soilder's Journey
Make a difference is all you wanted to do. You unselfishly gave all you had, which was YOU. Thinking of this country, your family and wife, you dedicated all you had, YOUR LIFE. You left us without saying goodbye, that's okay, cause one day, we'll tip up on you and say "HI."
We, your families, and friends miss you and want you here, because to us you are so dear. We too, missed the chance to say something to you!
We, love you, we miss you, we appreciate you, we do. We trust and pray you are now resting in peace. We'll learn to accept that. "Go ahead and take your rest. For, we know that GOD only takes the best."
