Warren A. Frank Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 27, 2008.
Warren A. Frank hoped to teach high school history and coach track after he retired. "Our son wanted nothing more than to make a difference in our world," said his father, Warren R. Frank. "He was not a movie version soldier, but a man who looked forward to loving his children." Frank, 26, of Cincinnati, Ohio, died Nov. 25 during combat operations in Ninevah province. He was a 2004 graduate of the Citadel and was assigned to Okinawa, Japan. "He was our son, our brother, devoted husband and an enthusiastic father. He is our reminder that all generations have those who comprise ''The Greatest Generation,''" wrote his father. He was his third combat tour in Iraq. "It was inspiring to watch Warren grow as a leader and develop his common sense approach to leading his men and the bond fostered in that. His humility was humbling, his humor was healing, and his friendship was an honor," wrote Maj. Christopher Janecek. He also is survived by his wife, Allison, and daughters Sophia and Isabella. "Our deep sorrow is not in the life we had with him, but in the loss of the life we always thought we would share," wrote his father.

Hello Warren, I'm confident that you are looking after your daughters right now as you have been ever since November 25, 2008. You are remembered by me, my daughter Allison Frank, Isabelle Frank and Sophia Frank. You are proud of your daughters, this I know. Warren, my son-in-law, you are missed by me as well. I remember riding up to Ramona one time to see your cousins. You shared your goals with me. I was very happy to know how much you wanted to do something for humanity. Please carry on that drive from above through your daughters.
Always and forever your father-in-law Steve.

Had a good laugh thinking about you yesterday as I explained in detail to my neighbors who you were. Then Lt. Frank, told the Company CO he wanted to take his Marines out for a while to do some 4x4 training while we had some down time in 29 Palms. We literally got to drive around tearing up Humvees in the desert for hours while we all laughed and had a great time (platoon commander included). Thats how we were introduced to our new 2nd Lt. and from that day forward he was our guy! Thanks for the memories 6, we miss you tons brother. Until Valhalla.

My condolences to the family of Capt. Warren Frank. I just learned about Capt. Frank from an article in the Cincinnati Enquirer for Memorial Day, 2014. I wanted to read about his life and service. My father served in the 88th Infantry in Italy during WWII. By the end of the war, 9 of the 12 men in Dad's squad were dead. My father taught me never to forget those who "gave all" for their country. Capt. Frank, thank you for your service and sacrifice. You are honored and remembered today.

Captain Frank, words cannot describe the feeling that I felt when I heard the news. After serving with you in Iraq in 2007 and staying right next to you at the base, I felt we bonded. I highly respected you so much, I thought of you not only as an inspirational leader, my officer, but also someone who took the time to listen and showed GENUINE concern over what I was feeling. You are truly missed, and I look forward to the day, where we will be able to laugh and joke again. R.I.P. Love you sir!!!!

Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,000 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and want you know that everyone here at Project Compassion does and will always CARE.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.
Sincerely and Respectfully,
Kenna

Hubs,

It's been over a year now, I really can't believe it has been so long. Time goes by so fast taking care of the girls. They are getting so big now. Sophia is one smart little girl. Loves her music, book, coloring, and most importantly dress-up. We have reached the princess stage. Izzy is just too funny. I really wish you could see her, you would get such a kick out of her. She is always so happy, and just laughs and laughs. Our little chunky monkey. She is starting to talk now too, and is using her sign lang. just like Sophia did. I hope the job I am doing is making you proud. I miss you so much hubs. You will always be my heart.
