I was a good friend of his from Middle School, always called him "Albert", we never kept in contact but found out through our mutual Jr High friends, it is a tragic event that has really shocked me. I was Alberto's elementary school teacher for grades 4 and 5. I remember him as a hardworking young man who worked hard at whatever he wanted to do and had many friends. I am proud of what he was able to accomplish in his life. I am heartbroken that a man with his potential who was just starting out in life is no longer with us.

I am writing to offer my deepest sympathies to you and your family over the loss of your HERO Lance Cpl Alberto Francesconi. I lost my son in Iraq on May 6/2007, so I can well understand your pain of losing a loved one so dear.

I only new Alberto's wife Cynthia. We worked together at Shoe Carnival in Jacksonville, NC. We are deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Our thoughts are with you.
