Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that we had a flag and a picture of Alberto set out on our "Field of Flags" in Brooklyn, NY on both Sunday and Monday of Memorial Day Weekend, as our tribute to him and NY's other fallen heroes. We have been doing this since 2008 and we just wanted to let you know about it. May God bless you and keep you strong. Respectfully submitted On Behalf of the US Hockey Players Support Our Troops Campaign.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Francesconi Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

”Honor and Remember” - “Project Compassion” We love our Soldiers! We love our country and we cannot express enough love and compassion to the families of our fallen heroes. War does not discriminate – It breaks our hearts to see the faces of the fallen. We want to give this gift to the hero’s Mother, Father and/or spouse. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization! Almost 2,150 portraits have been completed and shipped to the parents and or spouse - at no cost as this is a gift from one American to another!
This is a gift! We have wonderful sponsors who help with the costs, and want you know that everyone here at Project Compassion does and will always CARE.
Contact us directly at [email protected] or go to www.heropaintings.com . If you have already had a portrait completed, we pray that you are enjoying the portrait and God Bless You.

Robert,

I hope you can remember me; I was the Sgt that was getting his haircut in the spot a couple of months ago. Te acompano con tu sentimientos. I can't tell you how much your lost has touched me and how much I would like to give back to you and the rest of Alberto's family. In remembrance of your brother I would like to read his award citation at a field exercise for the Marines/Midshipmen at Suny Maritime. If you could contact me back with this information I would highly appreciate it. The lord is now taking care of Alberto in heaven; give me the opportunity to make sure he isn't forgotten here.

To the Family Lance CPL Alberto Francesconi,

I want to express my sincere sympathy at the sudden death of such a brave young man.

May you find comfort and strength from the words at Psalms 34:18-"God is near to those that are broken at heart, and those who are broken in spirit he saves."

I hope this scripture brings the family and friends a measure of peace.

From a Stranger who truly cares.

Dear family of Lance Cpl. Alberto Francesconi, I am so sorry for the loss of your hero. He was a hero in many ways to many people. He was helping to maintain our freedoms and helping to bring freedoms to those that have never known freedom before. I send many packages to contacts listed at AnySoldier.com. Your Alberto, being a volunteer contact for Any Soldier.com, was an angel to many in the field. He cared enough for his unit to help pass out mail to those who maybe did not receive any or as much mail as others. Helping them to know that they were supported, cared for and prayed for by us at home in the USA. What a true hero. Freedom isn’t free.
Thank you Lance Cpl. Alberto Francesconi. We miss you greatly.
May God’s Holy Spirit grant your family comfort as they progress through grieving for the loss of their very special hero.

Alberto, god bless you soldier and thank you for your service to a grateful nation, forever we will mourn you and all of our fallen heroes both before and after you. On 5/6/08 my nephew PFC Aaron J. Ward was killed in action in Iraq while on a routine patrol. My promise to him was that I would never forget him but also those fallen before and after him. When I made that promise to him the day we laid him to his final resting place I did not realize how often I would need to make entries on Legacy and it just breaks my heart knowing that so many other families have and will continue to feel the pain that our family has endured. To the Alberto family please accept my heart felt condolences and my prayer that god help you cope with this tragic loss and may the memories of your HERO carry you through each day. They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

Prayer for Peace

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to LCpl. Alberto Francesconi our Brother in Arms. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Alberto. And to Alberto it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the ultimate sacrifice he made for his country while opposing terrorist forces in Afghanistan. No greater love is shown than a man lay down his life for another. Alberto, you are a brave Marine Warrior, a true Patriot and a national Hero. With your passing, our Country has lost a National Treasure. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,405 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion in Shreveport, Louisiana, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Alberto’s family and loved ones. Semper Fi !

I was Alberto's elementary school teacher for grades 4 and 5. I remember him as a hardworking young man who worked hard at whatever he wanted to do and had many friends. I am proud of what he was able to accomplish in his life. I am heartbroken that a man with his potential who was just starting out in life is no longer with us.
