Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Wightman Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

Another year has gone by and it seems we don't stray to far from your legacy. You have shown everyone what it is to be a hero. I periodically read your guest book, maybe to get to know you better. From what I read you were a great guy to all your friends. I also read your Dad's birthday message and a chill ran thru me. I'm sure you are missed by all who knew & loved you and there will always be a void in their lives.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know William, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

We will see you again someday and until then you shall forever remain in our hearts and minds.

Brett, It has been a long sad year since you were so suddenly and without no warning taken from all of the ones who loved you so very much. We never had a chance to say goodbye or to tell you how much we all loved you. You were such a bright spot in all of our lives. You were a special young man, only 22 years old, way too young to leave this world. You left a lot of sad people here behind, but knowing that you are in Heaven gives us hope to know that one day we will see you again. You are missed and loved and thought about every day by everyone who ever knew you. We all LOVE and MISS you so very much.

To my little Hero.
So many people didn't get the privilege to see you when you where a little man. But I did,the first day your mom and dad and steffy brought you over to Grandma Wightman's we all could not wait to hold you, and when I got to hold you I was so proud. Your beautiful face lit the room with smiles. In the summer getting to stay with you and steff was alway a great time! I remember when I got to see you walk for the first time, we had so much fun with you. I remember going to see Ghostbusters with the family and at the end of the movie when the music came on.. you yelled out lould GHOSTBUSTERS!!!! I think you where only 2, we all laugh out lould. When you got a little older you,tim and myself would always take a drive to Chillicothe and go to the movies or to the park, I remember when I let you and tim drive my brand new Daytona(on the back roads always)! for the first time. I well not forget the talks we had in that car of mine the fun we had, It was a privilege to be in your's and tim's life at that time. The memories I have of you and tim could fill a book. The last memorie I have of you is, when you work at Haggars Clothing Store, I came into talk to you and just befor I left you gave me a hug and both of us told each other we loved them. That was the last time I got to talk to you. I now talk to you ever night and hope you are listening. I now have 3 little hero's of my own, but you will always be my First.
PS. Thank you Brett for a laughing me to share in your short life, and in brining me so much JOY IN MINE!!
Until I see you again,
Love Aunt Susan.

I never knew Brett, though growing up in a small town you seem to know everyone..I knew some of his friends. I was able to get to know the type of man he was from hearing stories from them...This is the first time for many of us where something like this has hit so close to home. So many people in the community has pulled together in this time of great loss. To Brett's family and friends you have my deepest sympathy.

I am sorry to hear about Brett. He might have died loving what he was doing but I can't help myself but to be selfish. I guess God needs all our angels first. I do want to say sorry about your loss to Brett's family. He was a joy to have around. He helped me through some rough times and I just can't believe he isn't here. I mean, I don't want to make him sound like a saint or anything but he was close to it at times. I just miss the way he made me laugh and cry all at the same time. He was a good man. I remember when I used to call him a boy all the time. Even when he came back on visits. Now, I can't do nothing else but call him a man. I am and will always be very proud of him as all the people that have ever known him. He was a very big go achiever. He had such a beautiful smile and mind. A lot of the girls used to think he was gorgeous and all that. I think that what he had on the inside was so much better. He was so beautiful on the inside.

We did not know Brett personally, but we have been friends with the Haines family for several years and grieve with each one of you. We know you take great pride in Brett's military service to our country, and we offer our heartfelt condolences and thanks for a fine young man. This has been a sorrowful year for your family, with the loss of Brett and his grandmother Joyce. God Bless You & Keep You.

I just wanted to send my sympathy to the family and the many friends. I didn't get to meet Brett, but from what Steve and others have talked about him, he was a good hearted man. It took a a lot of courage and strength to do what he done. You will ALWAYS be remebered in everyones hearts and memories!!
