September 26 2005 was the Year
At my job working and the air was clear
Coworkers scrambling with duties to fulfill
There was something stirring and somewhat surreal
At ten in the morning and my heartbeat was racing
What is so different today? I think I’m going crazy
Was it the pizza I ate or was it something else?
It kills me not knowing of what’s going on with my health
Catch a breath I leaned against the coralator printing out the orders
The moment seems fading but keeping my composure
I looked around the room my coworkers asked
Are you alright? What’s going on?
I’m okay I answered and got back to my task
A deja-vue moment like I’ve been there before
Its three in the afternoon and one more hour to score
Mainly not the eight hour shift weighing on my shoulders
But the emotional mayhem every minute was growing bolder
What is wrong with me and Why am I here?
My mind was playing tricks I guess its surreal
My boss called me up when Time stood still
“I am sorry but I have some news for you”
“Your brother got Killed”

I only found out yesterday about Tulsa's passing and am still having a hard time believing that he is gone. We were friends when he was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a very special person, who I am sure touched many hearts. My heart is filled with sadness, and my prayers are with the beautiful family that he left behind.

In Memory of Tulsa ~ (Debra Estep)
September 26, 2008
Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Tulsa, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Wow, I found it, and I guess it's about time I post a comment about "Kasa"... right after JMac! (one of Kasa's boys from when we were stationed at Schofield Barracks together) lol... How do I begin and where do I start? .. It's been over a year since Kasa's passing and yet, the pain of loosing him is still there!.. There's nobody like Kasa and words cannot begin to express the admiration and respect that I have for him... The fact that Kasa & I are cousin, doesn't even begin to explain how good of a man he was! He was the best and one of the few people that are related to me whom I trust with everything, especially my son.. Yep, he was my son's godfather, but more of like his babysitter ;)... he played a very important role in my son's life, for he was one of the 3 family members that were there when I gave birth to my son ... I can go on and on sharing stories about the good ole times, the memories, you name it.. yeah there were bad times too(lol) shared with Kasa but most importanly the respect that we have for each other through it all.. :) He was more than my cousin, he was like my little brother, always there when I needed him, and he will do anything for me! "Kasa" you will never be forgotten and as long as there's a breath in me, my son Dre(as you would call him) will always remember the sacrifice that his uncle Kasa made so he could be free! Malo tau bro, Rest in love our "toa samoa" until we meet again.. You're forever in our hearts! ~Tas & Dre~

Writing this brings me such sadness. Tulsa is greatly missed by us. (My husband, Major Retired Bryan Jones, was his commander at Ft. Drum a few years back.) I know my husband used to rave about Tulsa and the great job he did as Smoke for Alpha battery. I can still remember him coming home and saying, "Smoke gets it. He understands what direction I need the battery going and he works hard." The last time I heard from Tulsa was a thoughtful email with condolences for my husband's injury. Tuliau family~ I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope that his memory lives on with you and helps sustain you. He was such a good man, father, and soldier. His care and concern for his soldiers was obvious. He served with pride and honor. Tulsa is forever in our hearts.

We here in California are acutely aware of your loss. We have visited Tulsa's memorial cross here on our beach and we have prayed for all of you. God bless you all.

I give thanks today for all those who served in the military. Those from long ago, those currently in duty, and those in the future who plan to become a soldier. My father, LTC. Leon G. James suffered critical brain injuries in the same accident that killed this honorable soldier, and also claimed the life of Casey Howe. My father was their commander and friend. I know they are safe now in heaven together, looking over all of us who knew him. Peace and love go out to the my family, the Tuliau's and Howe's. And not to forget all of the other families of fallen soldiers.

May God bless you in a very special way, as He took a very special person from this world to be with Him. I thank God every day for men like your son who are willing to fight for our freedom and the freedom of oppressed nations. I know Tulsa has made a difference in every life he has touched. God bless everyone in his family
Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they
protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they
perform for us in our time of need. I ask this in the name of Jesus,
our Lord and Savior. Amen.
“I’ll lend you for a little while
A child of mine,” He said.
“For you to love the while he lives
And mourn when he is dead.
It may be six or seven years, or
Twenty two or three,
But will you ’til I call him back,
Take care of him for Me?
He’ll bring his charms to gladden you,
And should his days be brief,
You’ll have his lovely memories
As solace for your grief.
I cannot promise he will stay,
Since all from earth return,
But there are lessons taught down there
I want this child to learn.
I’ve looked this wide world over
In my search for teachers true,
And from the throngs that crowd life’s lane
I have selected you.
Now will you give all your love,
Nor think the labor vain,
Nor hate me when I come to call
To take him back again?”
I fancy that I heard them say,
“Dear Lord, Thy will be done.
For all the joy this child shall bring,
The risk of grief we’ll run;
We’ll shelter him with tenderness,
We’ll love him while we may,
And for the happiness we’ve known
Forever grateful stay.
But should the angels call for him,
Much sooner then we’ve planned,
We’ll brave the bitter grief that comes.
And try to understand.” -Edgar Albert Guest

With deepest sympathy from the Summerville Family may these words bring comfort to you and your family always.
Isa. 25:8, 9: “He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. . . . And in that day one will certainly say: ‘Look! This is our God. We have hoped in him, and he will save us. This is Jehovah. We have hoped in him. Let us be joyful and rejoice in the salvation by him.’”
