I don't know exactly why I thought of you tonight. I am no longer with your friend. But I was thinking about that last Thanksgiving when you were at our home. I am honored. Thank you for your service and sacrifice. Never forgotten.

Large,
I would lie if a day doesn´t go by that I think of you and wish things occurred differently that night. But this time of year it certainly hits different. I miss you man. Today I was walking out of the grocery store and saw one of those old school 504 reenlist license plates on a truck and I was immediately flooded of so many memories.
Love you Brother. BDM for life

I remember you Bryan, I met you once while we worked up in Westpoint training cadets for the summer of 05. We were all headed home from an outing on free time and gave you a ride from which we got pulled over and basicially got let go. From that point you jokingly reffered to my group of friends as 'Free-Masons' haha. I remember sitting on the tarmac at Al Asad air base waiting to board the helos to catch up to you guys on objective, we heard over the radio that one of our D Co. trucks took a hit from an IED. I would find out much later during that month long mission the casualties would inlcude you. One thing I can attest to is all of our 3rd BN/504 - Blue Devil Brothers have not forgotten about you and all our brothers who gave their lives during that operation. I will remember your humor, and your jokes during that ride back to camp. Until we all meet again! 'Strike Hold' AATW (SPC Aguon-3rd PLT, C Co. 3/504)

Morning son. Today is 12 years since your passing. Alot has happened in that time as you know. I guess the biggest thing in the last year is that you are now a grandfather. I wish so much that you could be here to hold your new grand baby. I know you will watch over her as you have all of us. Its funny how sometimes I feel your presence like at kylies wedding and sometimes when Im just driving down the road. I know you are here I just wish we could do the things we would have been able to do together. It goes without saying how much we all miss you son so until Valhalla, till we meet again. Love Dad

Its been 11 years today son. So much has happened in that time. I always wonder what life would be today if not for that one second in time. I know we would be working on cars like always and spend time in the woods hunting like we used to. Its funny though when Im in the woods now its not as enjoyable as it used to be. I think of you sitting in your stand down from mine and remember the day it snowed so hard. We didn't get anything that day but what a great memory. Life has gone on Bryan but what we had before OCT 3 2005 will never go away. Please watch over us all. You are my son the one most like me as I was my father. I am so proud what you accomplished in your life and even though it was cut short you did so much especially with Kylie and Devan. They knew how much you loved them. Rest well my son...

Another Christmas has come and gone without you but no one has forgotten. We all love and miss that shinning star in our family. Our lives go on without you but the memories will never go away. Watch over us all son as I know you do. Our military family is with us still to this very day. Col Swift and Major Jennings visited with us in Oct. After ten years you are still in the hearts of the men you fought along side, your battle buddies. Our lives have been changed but we have survived because that is what you would want for us. I love you son...
With a dads love, rest well

Hey Bud. Nine years ago this afternoon. That one second in time changed so many lives. I have heard from Col. Swift and Major Jennings today and I am sure more later. They have not forgotten that fateful day any more than we have. You did your job and you did it well. Your men respected you more than you will ever know. We will gather today and reflect on life as it goes on without you. We will never forget and always remember how good of a man, father, brother and son you were. My life was forever changed that day and I truely believe some of your goodness came to me. Thank you son. You are with me every day....

Today is eight years since our world was changed. You gave your life so that others may live with the freedoms we enjoy. We gave them a choice and they chose to stay in the stone ages. Thats their choice.
Wil be visiting with some of your army buddies this weekend. We will be coming to have a beer with you. I am looking forward to it. Your Army buddies are the best and it says alot about you. You made me proud son. Rest in peace and I will continue to wonder what life would be like if not for that ONE SECOND IN TIME ....

Good Morning Mr. Large,
How are you doing? I am as well as can be expected! James and I are doing well. He finally retired from the Army after 43 years and I finally retired a second time from Robinson Health Clinic!Life for us is wonderful. I know your granddaughters will do great things and I know their Dad would be extremely proud of them! I probably told you this already however, Large and I often had conversations about his now young ladies. Motherly advice that I experienced with my mother. We had a bond that no one could separate and I miss that! I loved Large like he was a son. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about him. My prayer is that you, his mom and the young ladies know how much he loved you all, you were the center of his joy, and Life! Rest assured that once this dusty march is over, we will take on a new body and go to where there will be NO MORE SORROW!I love you all with the love of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Peace be with you...With much Love and Respect...Eleanor Scroggins-Wiggins

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Large Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.

Life is getting a bit stressful and chaotic right now. It's times like these that I wish I could just have five minutes to hug you and hear you say everything is going to be alright. Mom's doing the best she can right now with everything and I know you're with her and Dev. She really is trying Dad and I know you know that. With everything that's going on she is still working more than full time, like usual, and helping me with school and giving me advice with my problems and she is still there for me and Dev 100%. I don't know how she does it, but I think a lot of it has to do with her not wanting to let you down. I know you wouldn't have left if you didn't think that Mom could handle being a single mother and doing everything alone. You have a lot of faith in her and I believe thats what is keeping her going through all of this. Even though she is doing an amazing job as our mother, I still wish you were here to help her. Even when you were over seas, you were still a father to me and Devan. You would write in every letter, listen to your mother and do good in school. When we would talk to you on the phone you would always ask, did you do your homework? Is your room clean? I know you're still parenting us in the after life because when I am confused about a problem, I hear you're voice in my head and you talk me through all of my options. Though it would be nice to hug you and tell you I love you face to face. But like always, I know I will see again someday.

Hey Bry, it's Sissy. Quite a few soldiers came into town over the weekend. We had a banquet Saturday where your plaque from the Fort Bragg Medic station was given to us from your brothers in arms we will say. A lot of tears over the weekend as we celebrated you, your laughter, your jokes, and of course your zest for living life to the fullest no matter what circumstance comes your way. We all have learned so much from you. You were a heck of a guy as I learned again this weekend. The guys went out on Saturday and guess who went with them. No surprise, the guys remind me of you. :) We went to a really cool place to have fun and no one came any where near me because I was protected by 6 brothers!! They watched my every move, made sure I had a chair to sit on at every place we went and surrounded me, would not let me spend a cent, taught me to dance "young", and removed their coats and placed them onto me to keep me warm at the end of the night. One of ther guys even hugged me and rubbed my arms to create heat! Let's just say every one of your brothers took care of me. At the end of the night they told Dad it was their honor to protect and serve Bryan's sister. That put tears into my eyes as I miss you so much.....I just wish you were there to do the same as I know you would have. Seeing all the people come together to celebrate your legacy was just a testament to who you actually are Bryan. I love and miss you continually with my all my heart and soul. Thank you for sharing your "brothers" with me. Sissy loves you. xoxo

Hey Bud
All of your buddies are coming to town this week for a visit and time with our family. That is a true testament to how you made your life and your time on this earth worth while. You are my hero son. So time rolls on and
another year has gone buy. That makes 7 years now. When I think of that day it was only yesterday. My wound has healed, but my thoughts of you are still vivid and sometimes I am overcome with emotion , I just try to remain strong because that is what you would want me to do for myself and family. We all know you were exactly where you wanted to be 7 years ago, if not for that one second in time life would be good. I miss you son and not a day goes buy that I dont think of you and what life would be now with you in it. This family misses you. Rest in peace son..

Hey Bry, it's Sissy. Today, no matter how many years have passed, is the hardest day of the year. I miss you with all my heart and soul... So many things have happened in my life that I wish I could just pick up the phone and share them with you. Funny, the people that know you well know what you would say to me....(if you are one of those people you are smiling right now :). I want you to know that I am safe and being well taken care of. You always will be my number one protector, my very own "St. Michael", and I know from heaven you are watching over me and each and every day keeping me safe. I just wish I could see that crooked smile, hear your laugh, listen to your jokes, watch you eat steak :), hear of your stories over seas, and feel your strong arms around me just one more time...just one more time... Continue to watch over us all and keep us from harm. I love you Bry, Sissy

My son Adam Dorton swore in the United States Army last week and you were there. He chose to be a medic but they decided he would be better suited for MP and you were there. I told Michelle years ago that I knew this day would come as an entire town mourned you, and you were there. You were remembered in the spirit of the event because my family never forgot and as myself and his sisters cried, not wanting him to leave, I now understand a little better what drives a boy to serve and protect. It was to be his first decision as a man....
October 1, 2012
Senior pictures this week...You should be here for that. When I graduate and walk down to receive my diploma, it's going to be the hardest thing knowing you aren't there clapping next to mom like you should be. Or when I get married and you aren't there to give me away and have our father daughter dance. It seems like as I'm getting older, there are more and more things I am realizing that you should be there for then when I was 10. Sometime I think that it's not fair that everyone else got more time with you then I did. But i'm holding onto hope that, that just means I'll have more time with you in the next life. I love and miss you more than words could ever describe.

Hey Bry, it's Sissy. Dad and Brian (my husband) have been hunting all week. Dad has spoken often to Brian and I of how the two of you were supposed to hunt when you returned from Iraq. Dad also shows everyone all of your hunting equipment you bought together. Dad wears all of your hunting gear and thinks of you often while hunting. I guess we all wonder what it would have been like if all three of you could have hunted together. I know you would have taken a real liking to my husband. He is a lot like you and Dad. In Loving Memory for Bryan
Don't think of him as gone away-
his journey's just begun,
life holds so many facets-
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched. . .
for nothing loved is ever lost-
and he was loved so much.

Lowered my flag to half staff in honor of all fallen soldiers. Was especially thinking of you..Still wear the braclet with your name and Vanderbosch and Baez. Get asked a lot about it and tell them what my son told me about you. He said you were a great guy and awesome soldier. He was proud to have served with you.

Hey Bry it's Sissy. So much to tell you, just wish you were here for me to tell you in person. I know you have been up in Heaven smiling since the day you put Brian in my path. Funny how you have the same name! Memorial day the entire family will be together again to remember you. I am sure everyone who has signed this book will be doing the same. I Love You and thankyou for my gift from heaven. Sissy

It's been a while since I have made an entery, however you are all in my prayers every night!
Bryan, I want to thank you for opening my eyes. For helping me see what my path in life was meant to be.
I am a hospice nurse at the VA hospital in Texas. I help vets stay comfortable during thier journey to meet Jesus.
I talk with alot of the vets about you. I tell them of your powerful presence. Your strenghts. Your influence on the people around you.
I tell the vets here in Texas about your family, especially Michelle who I always admired.
I sometimes go on endlessly but I never forget to listen!
As I hear stories of loyality, fears, friendship, love, and honor I reflect back to the day of your funeral. I clearly remember the folks who lined the streets.
I remember the 21 gun salute.
I remember strangers crying holding flags.
I remember flags at half staff.
I remember the church being full.
I know it is impossible for all vet to recieve that kind of honor.
My wish is, that they could witness it, to see how much love and respect can come from strangers, who honor and aknowledge our hero's.

Hey Bry! Had a great Christmas. Missing you though. Kylie and Devan are so grown up and missing you along with all the rest os us. We went to Aunt Syb's house like we do every year and had a fun time playing games. We all said a quiet Hello to you in our own way. What is hard to explain to people is that it is just another holiday without you and for all of us that will never change. I miss your smile. I miss you teasing me. I miss my Bro. My blessing is that you are in God's precious arms. Actually, I bet God is in your arms knowing you! I love you Bry, Merry Christmas! Sissy

Hi Bry. Another Oct 3rd has gone by. Four to be exact. This year Captain Jennings came to be with all of us as we remembered our lives with you. All of our lives have changed recently, somehow we all know you have had part in it. Let's just say a little bit of happiness for each one of us thanks to you. Life remains difficult without you, though, and always will. Who do I have to talk to about our childhood? "Remember when we" still brings a smile to my face! Sissy loves and misses you so very much.
