Dustin, we always think of you, your family, and your friends. I am very thankful for your service to our country during difficult times. We will always be in debt to you and your family for your sacrifices for us. God bless you all.

Dustin...after 18 years, I still post your story on my FB page. Most of your friends and battle buddies respond with love and care. It's amazing how time has passed, but our memories of will never fade. God bless you and your family. I always for everyone to continue to pray for you all.

I never knew your name untill now, yet I remember your face to this day. I was a medic when you arrived at the aid station on warhorse. Your medics had worked so hard to bring you home alive. Your face and the pain of not being able to save you has haunted my dreams for so many years. Rest in paradise my brother

I went to basic training with Dustin and became pretty good friend throw basic. I been looking for Kendall for years and it broke my heart today to find out he died in Iraq. He was a great friend through basic. He alway talked about his family and going to church. I will always remember you RIP.

We still think of Dustin often. We will never allow him to be forgotten.

I knew Dustin for a brief time when we served together in Iraq. He was a good man and a good Soldier. I remember him every Sunday in church when we observe a moment of silence for those who have entered eternal life. You are not forgotten, Brother.

In my mind's eye, I see him turned back to me from his pew in church, smiling that big grin! Such a sweetie!

Today I did the Run/Walk for the Fallen at Fort Carson. I was honored to walk in his name. HERO CPL Kendall will never be forgotten.

I cant believe how long it has been. I had a dream about you today... dont remember much of it but you were here and it was great. What i would give to go back to CO. and go ahead and shoot that one more round of golf with you. I still find my self wanting to give you a call and tell you some hillarious story about the kids. They love you, they miss you, i try to tell them as many of your stories as i can. They definately know who you are. I got a memorial tattoo for you. I really miss you bro.

I cannot say in words how much I miss you and miss spending those days with you and my sister running around the neighborhood. We had some really good times together. The summers that we spent at the pool and just hanging out at my house playing basketball or whatever else we could come up with that day. I still have that orange Nike visor I "borrowed" from you and never returned. I will never stop thinking about you. I miss you and love you!!

Father we entrust our brother Dustin to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. My husband Justin wrote this poem for Dustin, soon after he died. I think it is so beautiful. I hope you all enjoy it.

Prouder nay has been a man,

When life was laid for him, a friend,

To tell the tale and cry the tear,

And wish him back to hold him near.


To think that I could be so blessed,

To have a friend who thought life less,

Than freedom for his fellow kin,

And thought it worthy to defend.


We will remember Dustin Lee,

A day won't pass that we won't see,

His face before us in our minds,

Though tears from eyes may fall sometimes.


Tears are real and pain is strong,

But we know that it won't be long,

I don't know what to say I just found this site. Dustin was a friend of mine and always will be. No matter how hard your day was he could cheer you up, I am a mechanic and used to see him often. he would come down to the shop and make everyones day, with his posative attitude and upbeat personality. no matter what was wrong he could put a smile on your face. "Laugh or I'll make you laugh" ,was one line that he would say. The last time saw him was the day before the accident, that next day was the hardest day or our companies life. We lost a special person, but at the same time we had something that each and every one of will cherish forever. There was not one person that didn't like him. He never met a stranger, and he had a heart of gold. For that I would like thank you Mr.and Mrs. Kendall. You did a fine job raising him. I am going to Arlington to see him with my brother and Farr is going to be there a well. this is after we get home.

Dustin buddy, i was just thinking about you...its funny how often you run across my mind. And it still amazes me how proud i am to have known you for the length of time i did. Its times of the year like this that i know people miss you the most but i know you'll be with us. That song "One More Day" sums it up for me. If only i could see you one more time just to catch up, shake your hand and give you a hug...but that would just leave me wishin for another day. I dont know how your family is doing, but i hope everything is going well for them. Just keep doing what you do. The chills that are sent across my body when i see something about soldiers helps me to remember your prescence. I miss you kid. And im super proud of you.

I got an e-mail the other day about the wreaths that decorate Arlington National Cemetary. It made me smile to think of a pretty adornment on your grave. Missing you this holiday season. Love you much.

I don't pretend to know what to say or do that would bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her.
