To Randy's family and friends.

My name is Chuck Stewart (SMG Ret).
I was Randy's Platoon Sgt. in Iraq.
It has taken me a long time to be able to write let alone talk about the loss of Randy.
This time of year always is hard but I haven't and never will forget him and his sacrifice.
His little one liners, how he always was trying to give a fatherly impression to the kids when we were out on patrol. His pockets full of candy to give to those kids we met along the way.
I am truly, deeply sorry for your loss.
But with our memories he will always live in our hearts.
God Bless

SGM C. Stewart
U.S. Army (Ret).

Prayer Shawls 4 Fallen Soldiers ([email protected]) is an organization with groups throughout the country who strive to send handmade prayer shawls and/ or lap robes to families who have lost a loved one in service to our country. Members of Trindle Spring Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA would like to honor your loved one's sacrifice and memory by sending our prayers and comfort through a shawl which we will mail to you. If you are interested, please contact me at [email protected] with the names and addresses and what they would like to receive. We will send them as soon as possible. Also, if you know of any other families who are grieving the loss of a loved one who died serving our country, please pass along my e-mail address, as our organization can no longer get family contacts through the military. May God bless you and comfort you in the days ahead. Sincerely, Lynne

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

To the McCaulley family. My name is SGT John Wheeler and I was a neigbor and a friend of Randy's here in Iraq. I have many fond memories of him that I will take with me forever. We used to argue which was the better College team Texas or Penn ST back during the football season. It really helped us pass the time here in Iraq. I was there when he left this world and I miss his voice in the hallway now. He had told me how much he loved the Infantry only recently and he said if he could do nothing but the patrols he would stay another year. I said he was crazy and he said no I just don't like guard duty, but the patrols are what makes a difference. I just wanted to say that he was a fine Man, American, and Friend and I will never forget him. SGT John Wheeler

To the family of Sgt 1st Class Randy D. McCaulley:

We are deeply saddened to see that another soldier has been KIA in Iraq. We want you to know that we grieve with you over the loss of another precious soul such as Randy. I know from first hand experience what you are feeling and what you must be going through. We lost a son in Ramadi, Iraq on December 1, 2005, SFC Brent A. Adams and he too was with the 2nd BCT 28th INF Div. Brent and Randy may have know each other.

As Brent’s mother I know there is nothing I can say at this point in time that will ease your pain and sorrow over the terrible loss of your brave and courageous son. I know your hearts are broken and there is now a void and deep sadness in your heart that will never be filled. May it help you to know that there are others who share your pain, agony and sorrow. While the pain will probably never leave but lessen some with time, I pray the Lord gives you comfort, peace and strength to help you cope with this earth shattering loss no parent ever wants to experience. If it would help to talk please don’t hesitate to contact me.

This is an extremely difficult time, but hold on to those wonderful memories of your son….the ones that make you laugh and remember with joy the moments that you shared. The laughter between all those tears is one of the ways that will help you work through your grief. Randy is a hero (a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities) and even though we were not fortunate enough to know him we pray for you and all your family and for all those men and women serving our country so valiantly. Our children have made the ultimate sacrifice and they will always be honored and never forgotten. Unfortunately these tragic events have bound all of us together and changed our lives forever. God bless you and all those who mourn the loss of Randy and thank you for his courageous service to our country!

To the Family of Sgt. lst Class Randy D. McCaulley:

My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost our son 12/1/05. Brent and Randy served together - the 2/28th.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort. When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
