You are truly missed everyday you are never forgotten Toni's always hard to get thru but I know we have to push thru the day with the great memories we had with you. I love and miss you bro everyday and it's hard but your memeory is always remembered I had a Lil girl 2 yrs ago bro and her middle name is rose to honor your memory hopefully soon I'll get to go to San Francisco and take her to meet you bro I know I need to go back out there and see your mom and Dad. I hope there well I know your watching over them bro just wish you were still here. Rest In Peace bro until we meet again.

It has been over ten years now and am still reminded of you. It may be a sight or just a smell that brings me back. Most of the time it's a random dream about you that brings it all back. It's been so long that it's almost impossible to believe that all of that stuff happened. I'm so glad that I had the opportunity of being your friend. Our days of you, me, frenzies, and delayo playing GTA in the barracks and just laughing all night drinking beer and eating MRE's. I don't even know where I'm going with this letter or whatever it is. Just that you were a great guy who no matter what the situation was had a huge smile on your face and I miss you brother. I still text with Frenyea and used to get together once a year and think that it would be the same thing with you if you were still here. I miss you brother and will never forget what and who you were and still are, my brother.

Dear Big Cousin,

It seems though day by day as time passes by your memories and huge smile remain to stand tall and still. Maybe because you never left and as God's Angel you're just watching over us now. I hope when i speak that you can hear my words and understand that this is not just a text on a computer screen but more of my thoughts awaiting your approval that you hear and feel me.

I remember we were young energetic little kids. From playing with comic book action figures to actually having those action figures on a television screen fighting. The best thing in childhood, technology's new awakining "Video Games". At times when that got boring we would catch an infamous boxing match on the couch with the one and only Uncle Rudy.

Along with seperation came responsibility, schedule, and all the activities and priotities a young man had to deal with. Though it was less of hanging out, everytime we saw eachother my face would light up like a light bulb. It felt like gates opening to a park ride when I would see you. Video games were tiring and we would start watching movies. We had a thing for scary and gorry movies.

Just like the last one we watched when you came back from Iraq. Though you were happy to see me I seen something different in your eyes. Something that would fit a saying I once heard, "If it don't kill you, it will only make you stronger". That was the last time i saw you cousin...

From babies, to play mates, to friends just know that you were always my favorite cousin cousin. Family Always.

In Memory of Christopher David ~ (Debra Estep)

June 29, 2008

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Christopher, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

Eternal rest grant unto Christopher, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

If this person can stand in battle to ensure my freedom, then I will stand in grief with his/her family to honor him/her. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guest book for the rest of my life, but I promised LE RON A. WILSON (a dear friend KIA 7/6/07, 18yrs old) that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

My deepest sympathy goes out to your family. Learning of the incident from Chaplin Kamp and seeing the funeral procession happen across the street of my residence brings me great sadness and a realization that we live in a small world. Christopher is by the Lord's side watching over your family and although his physical presence may not be with you, he will always be in your hearts and in your memories.

I don't know him but I am Filipino, born in the Philippines -- I am one with a fellow Filipino brother. I read his story in a local web newspaper here in Manila and was sad to learn of another Filipino brother dead helping another country gain its freedom. God speed to all Filipinos who are giving their all, their selfless motives for the betterment of others. Mabuhay to Christopher D. Rose. Isa kang bayani para sa amin din.

I will never forget Christoper. He grew so much in 8th grade that he barely fit in his desk by the end of the year. He loved baseketball and recess with Paul Hicks and Abel Fuau. He was a treasure, a kind, gentle soul who cared for others, a good boy, and a devout Catholic who lived the true teachings of his faith.

Spc Christopher Rose: Dear family:

we are now at a place where none of us ever dreamed of being. Our son

Chris was killed in Iraq on June 20, 2006. The loss is so devastating, there are no words to say at this time. Just please know that we are available to you at any

time. Our hope is that you are surrounded by friends and family and

are being supported by lots of prayer. God bless you during this time.

To the Family of Spc. Christopher D. Rose;

My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday.

I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is those wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
