I had a drem with you in it the night before last! It was beautiful, we were all at a Marine reunion in Texas and you were sitting beside the firepit drinking a beer with all of us. You had a beer in hand, and with a loggers beard, you had your well known smile on your face! Every visit is a blessing!
So, until my next dream or when I am with you, love you bro!

We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let you and your family and friends know that we have made a small donation to the Semper Fi & America´s Fund in the name of Jason Hanson US Marine Private 1st Class.

Having had a dream of, Jason, many years ago let me know that his spirit is still with us. His hard working and positive attitude was admired and favored by all. Knowing that he watched over me as I slept in Iraq, gave me comfort and him doing my job as a mechanic gave me an appreciation for his willingness to be a team player. The good times together in person may have ended but your legacy continues. Momma Hanson, you and I talk the most but my love for the Hanson family doesn't stop there. Love, prayers and hugs to all of you that share the love for Jason.

Jason, Christian, Phillip, Anthony, Randy, Chad, Adam, Shane are always in my heart and thoughts. The 29 was really a very hard day for me and my family. We had you remembered in the memorial we had here in Winter Haven " A Day of Honor & Remembrance".My daughter even put Jacob's picture beside his brother Jason on the display table with your mother's favorite story . Two Marines of Delta Co 3rd LAR came to speak about you guys. So great to know that you will always be remembered. Ethan did great telling stories about you guys and so as Courtney. And I think as they attended the memorial it also helps them heal to speak about each one of you. The Seven warriors the Dragoons. You guys are good Marines and awesome.Semper Fidelis is the right word

Hello Mrs Hanson and family,
I am DI Sgt Ethan Duncan Arguello's mom. Ethan served with Jason in the 3rd LAR Wolfpack during the 2006 deployment to Iraq. He was a Lance Cpl then, now he's at Parris Island turning recruits into Marines.
I haven't posted before but I've kept you in my heart and my prayers these past years. Ethan holds him in high honor and will remember him always.
I read all their stories again this week. What a fine young man you raised.
Ethan suggested that I let you know I've mentioned Jason in a post to my blog. I also plan to put together another post with a brief biography of Jason and his fellow heroes between now and Memorial Day.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Jason, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Hi Jason. Know that everyday of my life I think about you boys. Every time I offer a prayer I pray for you that God will keep you in His arm and care although I know well that you guys are already with Him maybe doing that makes me feel better. We had a great time in DC with Kathy, her brother and the Galvez family, The Newman, and the Butterfield. We miss your family. I know that your mom and dad had a great time in Alaska attending your brothers wedding. It was a very pleasant day of reunion and the great surprise of the Remembrance is to see Kenny Lyons walking and standing on his unifrom. He did a great improvement since I last saw him at Twenty Nine Palms. We also dine with Lt Cornel Jones and his wife. Your death Anniversary is coming. I cannot believe that it is almost a year now.I arranged a Memorial for you and the seven boys of 3rd LAR Dragoons this 29th of July. It will be at St. Joseph church in Winter Haven. The services will start at 1:00 PM till 5:00 PM. There will be masses for you and the boys and few churches of Polk county will also hold a mass. Jason you have left us an extended family and thank you again.

Hi Jason, has to get up so early. Been thinking about you boys and looking forward to meet your mom and dad again at DC but they will have to attend the wedding of your brother in Alaska, so they won't make it this time. I have been talking with your mom and she is doing great just missing you. She is a very strong person of faith. This Sunday we're going to attend the Remembrance Day. You boys deserve to be remembered not only by your family member and the Marine Core family but also the world has to remember the ultimate sacrifice you boys did for this country. Thank you, and please tell Sgt Williams that I miss him so much and so proud of him and you boys did great than anybody could have ever done. SEMPER FI

“Paid in Full”
To Honor The Service of Fallen and Injured Marines
Marines through and through, they paid the price
Six thousand miles away, we live the life
For which they paid with their blood, spirits and bodies
We will never forget what they paid in full
We hope and we pray that somehow their loved ones find comfort
In God, in the flag, in the memory of their loved ones’ bravery
They’re gone now but we see them still…proud, strong, willing
Covering each other’s backs… courageous, moving forward
What kind of love did they have for us to be willing
To give it all for the Black, White, Jew, Christian, Muslim?
We don’t comprehend but we honor you now and forever
You are Our Marines…some living…some not
Forever in our hearts we will cherish your lives
Lives too short yet immortal they’ll be
Highest brotherhood of the Few, the Proud
They stand at attention, and we gaze with awe
Some know their names not, but our admiration for them
Flows limitless within us, between us
They sacrificed their limbs or their lives
Freedom still rings, a soft sound across the miles
It tolls slowly; all of creation takes note
Of the lives that were lost for people unknown
Out of sight but not lost; forever among us
The starched blues marching straight
Toward the place where we will meet them
Many years from now…how we loved them…
Well done beloved Brothers and Sisters…You’ve paid it in full
Always Faithful Marines, You Have Paid it in Full

To the family and friends
I have only just begun this journey and may not have known your loved one personally.
I extend to you my deepest condolences. No words will ever express the grief those close to this lost treasure are feeling. I can only say that I can share this grief as I too lost a loved one July 8, 2006. I will continue to pray for the safety of our soldiers and especially the family and friends of our lost hero’s. I only hope the memories will carry us through. I will continue pray that you also will believe and know that our heavenly father will not give us more than we can handle.
As always I read (and cry) through the memorials of our lost hero’s, So many people have already expressed the things I would also say. I am amazed and take comfort that so many people care. I can only thank you for the sacrifice you and especially Jason have made to protect our country. As others have said “I am only an email away.” I would be honored if you so choose to share about this fine man.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

When Jason Hanson of the 3rd Light Armored Recconassaince Battalion died, July 29, 2006, he was listed in the marines as a Private First Class. After Jasons death, he was promoted to Lance Corp. My family and I are praying for you and your family during this difficult time. We send our deepest empathy as we lost our Marine on 11/30/05 in Fallujah. We are comforted to know that our Marines are serving their country with such honor and bravery. We are so proud of our Marines and all of our other service men and women for all that they have done and continue to do to keep us safe and to give us the freedom we have that so many take for granted.
They are true Heroes and need to always be remembered for their selflessness and sacrifice to better our world. We will forever be united in the loss of our heros. We are so sorry for your loss and hope our words will ease some of the pain, and maybe fill some of your emptiness.

I am trying to get an email address for Jason's family. I have some pictures of him that one of his fellow marines (my son-in-law) sent to me.

To the Family of Pfc. Jason Hanson:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is those wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
