Hello,
We wanted to let you and your family and friends know that we have made a small donation to the Autistic Children of America Foundation in the name of David Michael "Harry" Hierholzer US Army Sergeant.
We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals across the American youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.

I just came across this, while searching for the year of Davids passing.
I have been watching a new tv program called, The Long Way Home, and the battles of 2004 battles in Iraq, which brought David to my mind once again.
So many David memories, the rascal he was, and the great man of God he became.
Chris and Dave, Dawn and Melany, family and friends, I know the pain of loss never goes away. The person who, in every family gathering is now missing.
You know that I share this sorrow.
There is a reunion day coming.
We trust Almighty God with our pain and His promise.
Remembering David. Remembering you.

I would just like to say as much as my husband thinks about you I'm sure I would have liked and i do wish we had a chance to meet, our first son is named after you when he first seen a picture of you it was like he knew you since he was born, he was only two years old when my husband showed him a picture of you at LMS Chucky asked him who that was and he said very clearly his name is David I thought that was very weird but nice at the same time, i often remind him who he is named after and just want to say you are truly missed by many and thank you for your service.

David,
It is still hard for me to believe you're no longer with us. There isn't a day that goes by that i dont think of you. You were a special young man and brought new light to my eyes. It was such a pleasure to spend a year of my life getting to know you, even though it was cut short, what a blessing it was to have you in my life. I enjoyed meeting your family and your brothers at ft. drum, many memories and long road trips. You will always be my hero and i want you to know just how much you were loved. I will never forget the first time you told me you loved me. You showed me that there are still nice respectful young men out there, and to always respect myself and accept nothing but the best. You are dearly loved an remembered in my heart. You always told me enjoy the journey, for life is short. You were comfortable with yourself, and said that this was what god put you on earth to do...defend your county.
I know you are in heaven now, a better place. I will meet you one day in the clouds. Until then...

David,
I still cant believe you are gone. You are never gone from my heart but the reality that you are in Heaven still blows my mind and I sometime cant grasp that! I know the Lord has Healed my broken heart more than I ever believed possible. I am learning to Love you and not hurt. But still have the nights and the moments when all I can do is cry and feel the sting of the hot tears role down my face. I know the pain still hurst and the tears keep fallin but the pain doesnt seem to last so long. I know that you are in a better place I just want you to know how much I love you and miss you! You were the MOST amazing young man and I wish you were still here with me! I love you!

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know David, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

Hey Harry just found alittle something and I thought of you. You were a great friend and will always be remembered for the times and trials we went through together from basic traing in Fort Benning 2/19 IN Charlie rock to Iraq and then finally to Afghanistan. I will always keep you in my prayers for the sacrifice you made for a friend.
A soldier reports to God
The soldier stood and faced his god, which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining, Just as brightly as his brass.
"step forward now, You soldier, How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays, and at times my talk was tough, and sometimes I've been violent, because the streets are awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny, that wasn't mine to keep...
Though I worked alot of overtime, When the bills just got to steep.
And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear,
and sometimes, God forgive me, I wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place, among the people here, They never wanted me around, except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord, it needn't be so grand, I never expected or had too much, but if you don't I'll understand."
There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints often trod, As the soldier waited quietly, for the judgement of his God.
"Step forward now you soldier, You've borne your burdens well, Walk peacefully on heaven's streets, Youv'e done your time in hell."

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

He was one of the most sifnifigent people in my life. He showed me what unconditional love was. He was one of the most real people and knowing that if ever I needed anything, he would have been there for me in a heart beat. When he was around everything seemed to be ok even when the storm was rageing around me he was always a rock in my life. I wish he were here to help me get through this. It will be a year in five days and I just cant believe that you are gone! I love you david!

I know David " Harry " from fort drm He was in the same company as my husband ... We had alot of great times together with him ... He alway s had a way to make a frown turn upside down no matter what was wrong with that person... If there was a challange around him he was never afraid to take that challange ... The last day we all had to spend with at a party before the deployment and he decided to challenge me and of course make me challenge all the other s al well ... It wouldnt let me give up .... I tried to give up many times ... And later that night he let me draw all over with a PFC with permanent marker becuase I beat that person .... That party is still the talk of today ....

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

All of us are proud of you . You are a young man anyone would be proud to have as a son.
I have been reading all the things people have posted on your blog. But I went back and read the things you said, they touched me so. for the fact that if someone said a curse word you would tell them not to talk that way.Strange to someone that didn't know you I guess you being in the service. Our hearts will ache forever as part of us has died...and our children would ask us to learn to continue to live in joy...but how...I guess day by day we will learn.
I know what you are going through and hope & pray God's mercies and comforts enfold you all. I am available to talk if you ever want to contact me...I would love to hear more about David. I know he was one of my son's Sargeants. I trust that they are together again enjoying being in the presence of their God. We embrace you. Carol Ewens
