I thank Kevin for teaching me to ride a bike. Kevin was my 1st cousin. My father and his mom are siblings. I remember as a kid Kevin would hang out alot with my sister and myself. We would go fishing at the bluff. In the summertime we would go to Silver Dollar City. When we hung out togather we always had a great time. My father was brokenhearted when Kevin died. I hadnt seen him in years but my memories of him in my childhood will always be crystal clear. He was one of my faviorite cousins. Kevin was snatched out of this world much to early. Thanks Kevin for all those wonderful memories and you will be missed always! Can't believe you been gone almost three years. We still love you.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Kevin, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Please know that our thoughts and prayers have been with you and your family since 8-12-06. Our hearts have been so burdened over the deaths of Chad and Kevin. However, we rejoice that they both were on earth one second and the next second in the presence of our Heavenly Father. To borrow another mother's words, "they have been redeployed to Heaven". Our boys gave their all and knew what they were up against. Our children can grow up knowing their daddies are heroes! Please know that you are loved and in our hearts! Sincerely, Jimmy & Dena Lloyd

To the parents of Kevin this is for you. "For Those I Love"
When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You must not tie yourself to me with tears. Be happy that we had so many years. I gave you my love. You can only guess. How much you gave to me in happiness. I thank you for the you for the love you each have shown. But now it's time to travel on alone. So grieve awhile for me, if you must. Then let your grief b comforted by trust. It's only for awhile that we must part. So bless the memories within your heart. I won't be far away, for life goes on. So if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can't see me or touch me. I'll be near. And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear, All of my love with you, soft and clear. And then, when you must come this way alone. I'll greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home" Love You and yours.

We were so saddened by your loss--your family is in my thoughts and prayers. May God grant you comfort and strength to get through the days ahead. We're so thankful for heros like Kevin who gave everything for our freedom. My grandson, Andy Dahlberg, was with Kevin and Kevin was like a father to him, so this hit very close to home. Kevin,
Our Dear Long time Friend..and Long time member of the original "FORT KNOX GANG"..It seems like yesterday we were all hanging out and getting together for the barbeques and volleyball games and cards.I cant remember a time when you were not smiling or giggling.. Your smile and laughter lit up the whole room, and we knew if you were going to be around us that night, we were all going to be laughing the whole time. They say that the people you meet in the military are the best friends that you will ever have. We were so blessed to have you as a friend. Words cannot Possibly describe how much you will be missed.Your in the arms of the angels and I know that your forever going to be young and beautiful up in there in Heaven watching over all of us. You will remain forever with us.
Stacy,
Words cant describe how sorry we are for your loss.We have you and The children in our prayers and If there is anything we can do for you, our door is open.Kevin was an amazing man and terrific friend with a huge heart. It was impossible to keep a straight face with him around!! We have known Kevin for many years and when we first saw the two of you together, we never saw him so happy. Our deepest condolences are with you.

To all the Zeigler family:
I came to know about Kevin when Channel 9 news in KC reported his death. I really hate to hear these type of reports esp. when I think of the children that are left behind without their fathers. And also for you Stacy, how hard it must be and has been without your husband there. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts for Kevin's commitment and loyalty to the service for our country. I know I speak for many, soldier's like Kevin is what makes us all free. Whether we agree or disagree with Bush, it's our soldiers that we're all supporting and will continue to pray for until this war comes to an end. Stay strong. It's not an easy road. Take one day at a time and know that there are lots of people praying for you during this difficult time. God loves you!

To the Family of Staff Sgt. Kevin L. Ziegler:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost a son 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is those wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
