Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Kim Family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to troops in Afghanistan this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Minhee Kim US Marine Lance Corporal. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

We wish we know Mr and Mrs Kim and hug them. We cannot imagine their loss but someday we would see him too. May God's peace and comfort continue to envelope the Kim family. Thank you and thank Andy for his life.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Andy, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

Mr. and Mrs. Kim,
I wish I had a chance to sign this earlier. I had the priveledge of meeting Andy my sophmore year through Gabe. As the year progressed I got to know him more and more. The times spent hanging out in Carriage house, or praying together. I know of no one who left such a profound impact on me in such a short time. He inspired me to a live a life of integrity and passion. And he continually challenges me to love God and love people more.
I don't know what else to say.. since words don't seem enough. But I hope I someday get the chance to pay my respects in person. And I continually put my faith in knowing that I shall meet him in heaven above.
Thank you and with much love and regards

“Paid in Full”
In Honor of The War Against Terrorism’s Fallen and Injured Marines
Marines through and through, they paid the price
Six thousand miles away, we live the life
For which they paid with their blood, spirits and bodies
We will never forget what they paid in full
We hope and we pray that somehow their loved ones find comfort
In God, in the flag, in the memory of their loved ones’ bravery
They’re gone now but we see them still…proud, strong, willing
Covering each other’s backs… courageous, moving forward
What kind of love did they have for us to be willing
To give it all for the Black, White, Jew, Christian, Muslim?
We don’t comprehend but we honor you now and forever
You are Our Marines…some living…some not
Forever in our minds we will cherish your lives
Lives too short yet immortal they’ll be
Highest brotherhood of the few, the proud
They stand at attention, and we gaze with awe
Some know their names not, but our admiration for them
Flows limitless within us, between us
They sacrificed their limbs or their lives
Freedom still rings, a soft sound across the miles
It tolls slowly; all of creation takes note
Of the lives that were lost for people unknown
Out of sight but not lost; forever among us
The starched blues marching straight
Toward the place where we will meet them
Many years from now…how we loved them…
Well done beloved Brothers and Sisters…You’ve paid it in full
Always Faithful Marines, You Have Paid it in Full

Dear Kim Family:
Thank you for the courageous patriotism that your son and brother, LCPL Minhee "Andy" Kim demonstrated by his giving his life for his country. His love and dedication for our nation is truly appreciated and honored. When called to defend his country he paid the ultimate price and we truly appreciate his sacrifice. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you mourn the loss of your son and brother, a true American Hero. My nephew LCPL Tyler Haynes was a close friend of Andy, being from the same company and deployed at the same time from Lansing. Tyler was seriously wounded the week before Andy was mortally wounded. Tyler is presently home healing. He was very sorry to hear of Andy's death and knew he died doing what he loved to do.

Dear Mr & Mrs Kim and Isaac;
We are SO sorry for your loss. I can barely find the words to express our grief. There is comfort in knowing that Minhee (Andy) is with the Lord he loved so much. We had only met him once at the Marine Family Day in June 2006 - we all shared a table at lunch, it was interesting that we parents tried to converse but our sons were so, so quiet. There was your Andy, our David, and Darryl & Debbie's Greg. Also interesting is that each of these young men have one more thing in common besides their service in the Marines; it is that they are men of faith in Christ, maybe had we been a little braver that day in getting to know one another we would have learned that sooner? It is a comfort to know that we WILL see him again some day.
We regret not being able to attend the memorial service in Andy's honor. Again, with sincere sympathy, but yet hope. Andy has served with honor and bravery.

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Kim,
Our heartfelt sympathy for the loss of your precious son, a valiant soldier who is now home with the Lord and someday we will see him and reign with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. We heard about him today at the Laura Ingraham show and tears were shed, so moving that this young man knew his calling in life and was passionate in the things of God. He wanted to give back to America for all it has blessed him and his family. We salute him. We are sure when he entered God's Kingdom, those sweet words were uttered by the Lord, "well done, great and faithful servant, enter now into the Kingdom of heaven."
You raised him well, Mr. & Mrs. Kim and I know there are no words we can say to make you feel better but we pray that God's comfort fills your hearts and minds and that He is still the Sovereign God. Thank you for the ultimate sacrifice your son had given us here in America. May the Lord bless you richly!

Dear Kim family, my prayers and condolences are with you and your family. My heart goes out to you. Andy's truly fulfilled God's plan by ministering to those around him. This shows that Andy had a close relationship with God and he was obedient to the Word of God. Most young people do not share such a relationship and I praise God that Andy did. To the family and especially his precious Mother, remember our children are God's gift to us to love and nurture and I know that you did that for Andy. I do not desire to sound cruel, but remember that God loves us more and I truly believe Andy is with God. Andy's continues his ministry to all of his, especially by what his brother Aaron said about how the 23th Psalm is alive to him now. Continued to pray and God will give you peace, lots of things are not clear to us now, but seek only God for the answers and he will give you what you need along with perfect peace. Sincerely, Mary Jackson

We were deeply saddened to hear of Andy’s death and our thoughts and prayers continue to be with you his parents and brother Isaac. Our son, Nick Jr. (part of Andy’s fire team in the Charlie Company), spoke of Andy’s faith and commitment to Christ. We are grateful for the encouragement Andy gave our son in his faith commitment as well as in his duty as a Marine. For this personal reason and for the service Andy has given to our country, we are thankful for him, proud of him, and take his death very much to heart. Andy,
Everytime I saw you, you greeted me with a smile and a laugh. Your joyful demeanor rubbed off on me and everyone else you came in contact with. I'll miss everything from the times we spent serving the Lord together to the late nights spent laughing at Denny's. Initially when I found out that you passed away; I was shocked, and then shock became anger. But I realized that isn't the way you would want me to feel. As a man, you made a decision to serve this country and sacrified yourself doing so. I've always held you in high regard, and your sacrifice will not be in vain and will never be forgotten.
To Andy's parents: Andy was a special person who made sure to make everyone feel welcome and happy. The person Andy was speaks volumes to the principles that you guys instilled in him.
Until I see you again.

I'm Isaac and I'm the younger brother of Minhee Kim. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. The name we all called him by was Andy. Well, through this tragedy I still proclaim that God is good. I know that he lived out his purpose. I mourn and greive but at the same time I am filled with joy and praise. My brother, Andy, was proud to serve his country and relied his strength on God. If I were to sum up his passion in three words it would be he loved God. He will always be my brother and hero.

It is not too often that the teacher receives a lesson from the student. The first time I met him I asked him "Marine, why are you so quiet?" He replied "waiting on the Gunny to provide instruction!" He had a quiet reserved demeanor. Always sharp and quick, this Marine always did his best with what he had. LCpl Kim will be missed by all of those who knew him and had the privelege of meeting this young Marine. Every Marine that ever lived is living still in the Marines that claim the title! This Marine will live forever in the heart and minds of those who knew him!

Dear Family of L/Cpl Kim,
God is fully aware of your hurt and loss. Sixteen years in the USMCR for me helps me recall the sacrifice being made by our heros for our behalf. I give thanks to our Maker for His love for us that is unfailing. Be encouraged by the words from Psalm 33.
1 All you that are righteous, shout for joy for what the Lord has done; praise him, all you that obey him. 2 Give thanks to the Lord with harps, sing to him with stringed instruments. 3 Sing a new song to him, play the harp with skill, and shout for joy! 4 The words of the Lord are true, and all his works are dependable. 5 The Lord loves what is righteous and just; his constant love fills the earth. 6 The Lord created the heavens by his command, the sun, moon, and stars by his spoken word. 7 He gathered all the seas into one place; he shut up the ocean depths in storerooms. 8 Worship the Lord, all the earth! Honor him, all peoples of the world! 9 When he spoke, the world was created; at his command everything appeared. 10 The Lord frustrates the purposes of the nations; he keeps them from carrying out their plans. 11 But his plans endure forever; his purposes last eternally.
12 Happy is the nation whose God is the Lord; happy are the people he has chosen for his own! 13 The Lord looks down from heaven and sees all of us humans. 14 From where he rules, he looks down on all who live on earth. 15 He forms all their thoughts and knows everything they do. 16 A king does not win because of his powerful army; a soldier does not triumph because of his strength. 17 War horses are useless for victory; their great strength cannot save. 18 The Lord watches over those who obey him, those who trust in his constant love. 19 He saves them from death; he keeps them alive in times of famine. 20 We put our hope in the Lord; he is our protector and our help. 21 We are glad because of him; we trust in his holy name. 22 May your constant love be with us, Lord, as we put our hope in you.

Surely He hath borne our grief, and carried our sorrow.

May you find comfort and strength, in the beautiful memories of times you spent with Minhee. Quietly and gently, may healing come, with each new day

To the Family of Lance Cpl. Minhee Kim:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
