My heartfelt sympathy is extended t all the Mason family and friends. I am so very grateful to him for the ultimate sacrifice he made so that we all may still enjoy and have the freedom he and so many others have fought to keep. My family and I can never truly express our feelings to his family for the sacrifices that they made also. I pray that God will give you comfort, peace and that your grief will be made a little easier due to the fact that your son is a (,brother, grandson, nephew,Uncle friend) "HERO" in the eyes of so many. I shall never forget this man even though I never met him nor the thousands before him. May God Bless each of you.

My Heart goes out to the Mason Family. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Chris personally, but i.m sure he was a terrific Soldier. My son SFC Tony Knier had the honors to serve in Iraq with Chris and I did mamage to get a picture of Cris with Tony. Tony also lost his life the same year as Chris. I have had the pleasure of meeting Chris' parents, and words could never express the sorrow one feels when you meet the family of a great Hero who laid down his life in our Honor. God Bless our Heroes. Chris you will never be forgotten you will be forever in our hearts.

In Memory of Christopher ~ (Debra Estep)
December 3, 2008
Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Christopher, but I am remembering
his service and sacrifice. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

I did not know this man at all, but as I was "surfing the net" looking for anything about our friend, SFC Tony Knier that was KIA on 10/21/06, I found some information about Chris Mason. I then discovered they were both in the 1-505th, 82nd. They died within months of each other and may have even known each other. I know that Tony's family is still struggling with his loss. I know my husband, Tony's best friend, has had a very rough time since his death. I admire Cpl Mason's family for their strength and faith, and I can only pray that perhaps some of that peace that they know will surround Tony's family as well. From what I read about Cpl Mason, the world was deeply enriched by his brief presence here on earth.

To Mr. & Mrs. Mason, I did not know your son but over the last 1 1/2 years I feel as though I did know him. I know that he loved his country, family, friends, and his brothers and sisters in the military. I want you to know that I truly am sorry about his death but at least he is in a better place that we are. I think that is one of the dumbest things I could have said but it is so true. I was raised by a Navy Dad and he taught us to be very patriotic. He said the men and women that served their country and those that died for their country didn't do it for themselves, they did it for all of us. Thank you for having 2 of the most remarkable sons, one giving the ultimate sacrifice and the other spreading God's Word and being there for our troops that need spiritual guidance whatever the situation. Thank You once again and May God Bless You and Your Family. We owe our lives to you and your sons. My family will never forget "CHRIS MASON" or his family.

Chris:
Your presence has been very strong in my life over the past few days. I love you and I know that you are always with me, guiding me, and inspiring me. While here on Earth, you were my "rock', my hero, my uplifting confident. You still are! Everytime "hard times" hit me, I begin to hear your voice and see your smileing face shining at me! Thank you so much for always being the wonderful man that you are and for setting such a wonderful example for all of us to follow. I will see you again someday!

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. John 15:13
Dear Family and friends:
They say time heals all wounds, but we know the pain is still there.
We pray each day is a little easier for you and yours. Know you are still in the hearts and prayers of many. We pray for God's comfort and peace in your lives.
Our family shares in the loss of your loved one. We thank God for his life and you for the sacrifice he made for the freedom we have in America, the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Just thinking about you.
August 8, 2007
There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

Ed,
Everyone who knows you loves you and misses you dearly. Our lives are forever changed and will never be the same. There will never be a day of our lives that we will not think of you and wish you were here. But we have the peace and comfort of knowing that you are with our Father, the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. You are in the Kingdom where you deserve to be.
You mother misses her baby dearly, but knows that she will one day rejoice and walk the streets of gold hand-in-hand with you and her King. This gives her the strength she needs to make it day by day. Your Dad, Garland, Mya, Ben, Leah and the rest of your wonderful family among many friends have been there for her and have been so wonderful to her. We are all watching over her and trying our best to comfort her as best as we can. You know she is in good hands. But above all, she is in God's hands and those are the best hands to be in.
It is a blessing that you were FREE to go and fight for our freedom as Garland said. We are forever thankful to you for your upstanding example of what a real Christian stands for, for your service, and for your patriotism to our country. Most of all, we are forever thankful for the impact that you have made on all of our lives.
Your tragic loss has resulted in many people becoming children of God and drawing themselves closer to Christ (especially me). I know this pleases and overjoys you infinitely.
You will always be my favorite clown, my handsome cowboy, my best friend, my hero and my Angel.
I know you will meet me at the Gates.
Love Always,
Jenn

Hello Chris:
I love You! Thoughts of you always bring a smile to my face and comfort to my heart. You are my Hero and my Angel! You always picked me up when I was down. You brought sunshine to my darkness. Chris you have given me those sweet memories that we always talked about and most of all you have taught me to be the best person I can be. I thank God for bringing you into my life. I learned to be brave, strong and most of all full of faith. You were the perfect role model. Chris you have left the most wonderful gifts here on Earth for all that knew you and even those who did not know you. You always showed love and faith. Thank you for the strength that your wonderful love for the Lord gave to me. Words can not express the feelings that I have when I think of you. You are a true knight and shining armor. I will always think of you when I look into my little Mason's eyes. I know that you are looking down on us from Heaven with that great big smile and a heart full of Joy! Yeah! Chris! You are a real Hero and now you are a soldier right there with God! I love You!

My Deepest and most heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family of Spc. Christopher E. Mason.
The price this Brave Soldier and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, Will Never Be Forgotten.
There is so much thanks to be given, to these young heroes, for their Courage, Dedication and Service.
May Christopher rest safely in God's Care and may God's Loving Peace and Comfort be with the Mason family.
I am the sister of such a young hero, who made the Ultimate Sacrifice in Vietnam, many years ago.
May the Peace of God and the memories of Christopher, remain in your heart always and give you comfort and strength through the difficult days ahead.

I have been told many times that only two people have died for our freedom, one being Jesus Christ and the other the American soldier. Chris had the strongest and truest belief in both. I spent several years with Chris at the "Rafter B bar" when he fought bulls. He left an amazing footprint in my heart and helped me grow by leaps and bounds in my walk of faith. I have many fond memories of Chris and know he will always have a place in my heart. As he once told me we share the same father I just happen to be his southern brother from another mother. I know he is setting next to our father and looking down on us all and pray that he is able to see all the smiles and love he left with us and look forward to the day when I can walk up to my brother and give him a hug. Thank you Chris for being who you were in my life, I look forward to seeing down the road.

I spoke with Chris just a month ago about joining the Army, he gave me courage and confidence that I needed. It had been laying heavy on my heart to help my fellow brothers to defend Freedom in my country. I knew the love he had for my mom's friend, Tracy kept him going, while he was in Iraq. I made the commitment the next day. Chris will always be a HERO and INSPIRATION in my life. I will continue where my brother Chris left off, for the FREEDOM OF MY GREAT COUNTRY......My Prayers Go Out To The Family and Tracy.

Though we had never met Chris, our son Jason and him were good friends and "Brothers in Arms." I understand the day they deployed, Chris was the last trooper to hold my granddaughter. The evening before we heard that the Lord had taken him, my daughter inlaw was showing us a picture of him and telling us what a great guy he is. Our family here, Jason's grandmother in Boise and our whole church family are praying for yours. Christopher Edward Mason left his mark on the lives of everyone who knew him and many more who never had the privilege. He is soldier, a saint and our hero!

My thoughts and prayers go out to this family. As I watch him on T.V. during his visit home and hear him preaching about JESUS CHRIST, it gives me chills. I pray that one of my sons may find their way back to the Lord from seeing him on T.V. I lost my oldedst son 5 yrs ago so I know and share your pain. My son left me 2 granddaughters in which I feel blessed. But, that also brings me much pain as I watch them go up without their daddy.
Your son was/is a HERO fighting for our freedom. I know you must be proud of that. Remember that he is in a better place now and what a reunion we will have, very soon.

My heart goes out to CPL Mason’s family, friends, A Co 1-505 PIR; my family will have you in our prayers during these times. He was one of those soldiers you remember because of his friendly personality and being totally committed to the team. From my family to yours I only wish the best and godspeed.

My prayers go out to Chris' family. I met Chris this summer when I went to visit my cousin, Robert. Chris was always sooo full of life and he definitely talked about how much he loved what he was doing. We had some great times together which I will always cherish!! Unfortunately, I dont think I will be able to attend the services as I live in CA. Chris you are a true hero!!! Watch over all the troops and keep them safe. Love ya!!!

Chris was very much loved and respected by the young bull riders from Tate High School and the Alabama High School Assoc. He saved the hides of these young men in the arena. And then went on to give his life for everyone in this great United States. He shared his love for the Lord with all the rodeo kids and their families. Chris will always be remembered by all who knew and loved him. Thanks Chris

What a wonderful person to lose. He brought joy to everyone he was around. If you were down, his smile, and his laughter would bring you back up. We love you, and will deeply miss you. Thank you again for making our country a safer place to live. Ashleigh"Cooper" Curry

Yes, if you knew Ed (Chris), you loved him. My heart goes out to Ed's family and friends. Sadly, I'm unable to pay respects in person due to living out of state. Please know I'm there in faith.
Thank you Ed, for fighting for our freedom, from one military family to another.
