Thank you E.T. for defending my Freedoms. It is because of great American patriots such as you that Americans continue to board airplanes with confidence and the people of this city can live without fear.
You will always be remembered with love and great pride by the grateful nation you served to protect.
Rest in peace.

MY NAME IS DURAN, I WAS IN THE SAME PLT WITH TORREZ, HE WAS MY BEST FRIEND WE WENT TO TWO TOURS TO IRAQ TOGETHER, I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE BREAKFAST WITH HIM HOURS BEFORE HE PASSED AWAY, ALL I KNOW HE DID HIS BEST TO SAVE THE MARINES THAT WERE WITH HIM AND HE WAS A VERY BRAVE MARINE. I THINK ABOUT HIM ALL THE TIME. I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT WHERE HE WAS LAID TO REST SO I CAN FLY OUT THERE AND VISIT HIM. IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME, GOD BLESS ONE OF THE BRAVEST MARINES TO EVER PUT ON THE UNIFORM.

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers today.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
Please contact me and I will email you
back a copy of the Angel drawing I have
posted here.
I did not know Elias, but he is my hero.

I can't even find the words...I lost my 19 year old son--5 Sept 2007, Balad, Iraq. I am absolutely devastated and I know that you are too...but find comfort in the fact that we will see our loved ones, our heroes again. Do I wish that I could trade places with my son? ABSOLUTELY not. He is in the arms of our Lord--"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away" ~Rev 21:4
What a wonderful thought...
May God bless Lance Cpl Elias Torrez, God bless you and your family and God bless America!

As a former Marine, I can truly appreciate the depth of character and level of commitment that your son put into his life. I want to say that I thank you for supporting him in this endeavor. His sacrifice for the freedoms that we all enjoy humbles me. I grieve for our loss-your son and my brother. May the days ahead fill you with warm memories and allow you to more fully appreciate the love of his family, friends, and fellow Marines. Semper Fi, God Bless.
Rest In Peace

Father we entrust our brother Elias to your mercy. You loved him greatly in this life: now that he is freed from all its cares, give him happiness and peace forever. Welcome him now into paradise where there will be no more sorrow, no more weeping or pain, but only peace and joy with Jesus your Son, and the Holy Spirit forever and ever.
May God hold Elias in the palm of His hand. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. My deepest sympathy.

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and all that we hold sacred. Though tears can never bring you back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that you made and our sorrow at your passing. You are truly a hero and your sacrifice will never be forgotten. Your mission on earth is complete. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the heroes who have passed before.

His Name is LCpl.Elias Torrez III. but, to me and his brother Pete & all who knew him...knew him as E.T.
Although he was born in Del Rio, TX. He was raised in San Angelo, Texas.
He was a very determined individual. He always gave it his all. and he never quit. I admire him. I never imagined he would die.....He's a US Marine, in the middle of a war zone. but, I didn't expect him to die....
I miss him. A huge piece of me died when he did. And I know a huge part of Pete did also. we will never be the same.
But we will always feel protected...we always feel E.T. with us...And knowing my son like I do...He's standing at the gates of heaven with a hug smile pasted on his gorgeous face with his head held high.
He's a Hero to the USA... but to me, he's my baby boy.
