It is difficult to know what to say since I want to express my sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Spc Herring. Please know that your loved one is not forgotten. I wish everyone impacted by this tragic loss strength and peace. I hope that Spc Herring knew that there are people in America who respect his great courage in serving as a member of the US military. Although I did not know him, I know that he must have been a very special person to be willing to do something that most Americans will never have to experience, and for that we can never say thank you enough.

I can't tell you how sorry I am for your loss of this young man. As I read all the names of the men and women that gave their lives, it hurts me to see that so many peoples lives have changed. Your young man is a HERO. He will be remembered. May God comfort you and yours during your time of sorrow.

In Remembrance of this Fine Young Soldier, Spc. Jacob R. Herring, who gave his life for our Country and for Freedom.
A multitude of Thanks to Jacob and his family, for his Courage, Dedication and Service.
There will Never Be Enough Ways, to Humbly Thank these Heroes, for their Sacrifices, my brother among them. Killed in action in Vietnam many years ago.

I didn't know Jacob, he was in my younger brothers unit. My younger brother had just been home for my wedding when he got the news. It hit all of us hard. My prayers and hopes for your family are thought of daily. I wear his rememberance patch on my colors. God bless.

May God bring you peace in your heart as you reflect on all the wonderful memories you hold so close. Please know that you are in my heart and prayers. Jacob it is coming up on 23 months since you were taken. You are a hero and you will never be forgotten.
