Krisna Nachampassak Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 28, 2005.
Krisna Nachampassak loved soccer and his kids _ and had a plan to combine the two passions. "He always used to say that he wanted a lot of kids so he could have his own soccer team," said his wife, Danile Nachampassak. Krisna, 27, of Burke, Va., died July 10 in a vehicle accident in Iraq. He was assigned to Camp Pendleton, Calif. Humble and caring, Krisna always thought of other people, his wife said. His parents, who made their way out of Laos, came to the United States in 1976. Thinnat Nachampassak said he often told his two sons about their struggle and thought it made an impression. Danile said her husband told her during a phone call that he was scared and there was a lot of bombing. But he also said he was worried about who would watch after his wife and two boys if something happened to him. "He was not thinking of himself," she said.

I just wanted to let you know that you are being remembered on this Memorial weekend. You are a true American Hero.
I know you are a very good man from reading about you. I hope your wife and children are doing well, and, I hope the kids are playing soccer.
HEROES NEVER DIE. THEY LIVE IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER.
I truly believe that.

Sgt Nacho, I miss you so much man. You were the one who took the group of misfits I came with and protected us. I was just thinking about you yesterday and how much I miss you. I feel a lot of grief because I never said goodbye. I can't stop thinking of what would have happened if you stayed with us in Twentynine Palms instead of going to Camp Pendleton. I miss you so much and you are always in my thoughts. Your brother from the OC.

Luis Interiano

June 19, 2009

My name is Luis Interiano. I had the Honor of serving with "Nacho" in our beloved Marine Corps, 1995 through 1998.

I first met Nacho when I arrived at Kaneohe Bay HI. he had been with the unit for a couple of months. I will never forget the way he received me as if he had known me for ever. He took me in and showed me around, As we got to talking I will never forget the way his eyes lit-up when I told him I played soccer. He emidiately wanted to go out to the soccer field and knock the ball around.

From there our friendship took off, Nacho and I would spend countless hours out on the soccer field just knocking the ball around, as well as in the motor pool. Nacho was a Line NCO and I was assigned as the Tool Room NCO.

I will also never forget the way Nacho always made you feel at peace, no matter how bad things got he always found a way to make me laugh, even at his own expence.

To this day I still carry a picture of Nacho and myself in the Visor of my truck.

I will never forget you Nacho, sometimes I wish I would have re-enlisted like you did, and maybe I could have done something to save you. but that is something I will have to live with for the rest of my life. I would have given my life for you Nacho, I Missed our friendship from the day I left Hawaii. Like you said when I last saw you, "This is not good by, This is a see you later". I will see you later my brother.

To Nacho's wife and kids, I would like you to know that you have a relative here in California. I feel like I'm family because of how close I was with Nacho. I have some photos that I'm sure you've never seen, and some stories that I'm sure you've never heard. I would love to meet all of you, if you're ever in California please contact me and we can share some stories.

I Loved Nacho like a blood brother. His selflessness, his warm heart and smile.

I will never forget you NACHO, rest in peace my brother.

June 17, 2009

When I knew then-Cpl Nacho he was a fun, hard-working, well-respected Marine. I was saddened to hear of his passing. His two sons should know how much he loved them and is looking down on them from above. Your Dad will always be with you - smiling like he always seemd to be.

It is difficult to know what to say since I want to express my sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Sgt Nachampassak. Please know that your loved one is not forgotten. I wish everyone impacted by this tragic loss strength and peace. I hope that Sgt Nachampassak knew that there are people in America who respect his great courage in serving as a member of the US military. Although I did not know him, I know that he must have been a very special person to be willing to do something that most Americans will never have to experience and for that we can never say thank you enough.
Thank you Sgt Nachampassak!

In Memory of Krisna ~ (Debra Estep)

July 10, 2008

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

I did not know Krisna, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side

i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.

can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.

i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side

the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.

i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend (KIA on 07/06/07) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

I served with Krisna with 1/3 in Kaneohe Bay. He used to pick up parts for MotorT from me (I worked in supply) He always had a smile on his face, and seemed to somehow find the lighter side of our training. I'll never forget him. I wish I could say thank you now. I hope his family finds peace and understanding in dealing with this unimaginable loss. Thank you Krisna.
