Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and hometown of Bradley S. Beard US Army Specialist.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families and friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

Spc Beard was a great kid. I was a SGT on the gun line (B 1/15FA) that he was in before he volunteered to go to 2/17FA. I was surprised when they told me he volunteered. Not because I thought that he lacked courage but because he was so smart and had college and always talked of furthering his education. I just thought his focus was more towards school. My gunnery SGT also volunteered to go. I ran into him at FT Carson and was deeply sadden when he told me about Brad. I don't know where I was going with this. But I hope this will ease the family's pain and re-a sure them that their son was a good person and Soldier!

Bradley will never ever be forgotten. I hope that the rest of you are doing well, I think of you often. My Nephew was hit by shrapnel during a mortar rocket attack and his girlfriend, Faith Hinkley was killed in the same attack. One other soldier, his Sgt, is still recovering at Walter Reed.
I miss seeing you guys at Lake Royale.
Take care,

Betsy, Randy and Staci, I think of you often and have had you in my thoughts and prayers constantly this Memorial Day weekend. I hope Bradley is looking down on us from Heaven and realizing how many lives he's touched and how grateful we are for his Heroism. I never had the pleasure of meeting Bradley, but when I remember his family and the way they describe him, love and adore him, I look at his picture and am filled with love, respect, admiration and gratitude. I hope somehow he knows.

I served with SPC. Brad Beard. I am writing to tell a story of the soldier I knew that meant so much to those around him, and what he meant to me.
When I first met Brad he was working with the maintenance crew that took care of the M88 Wreck and Recovery 'Tank' in the 1-15th FA Motor Pool. His dedication to his job was more than remarkable. Staying late to get that 88 'mission capable' was not even an issue with Brad. When most complained about the long hours, Brad just smiled, cracked a few jokes; and made sure that if you were going to have to work late, you were going to have a good time doing it. But Brad was more than just an easy guy to work with, he was a soldier you knew would have your back when things got rough. But what struck me most about Brad was his pure unselfish dedication to duty. About mid tour, orders came down that our sister unit in Camp Hovey was going to deploy, and there was a few MOS slots that needed to be filled for their coming mission to Iraq. One of those slots was for an 88 mechanic like Brad. It was asked by the command of our unit, that volunteers would be taken for that mission with 2-17th FA. Brad never hesitated one minute. He knew that our sister unit needed the help; and instead of waiting to be picked for the mission, Brad volunteered for it. Brad willing chose to fight, when most around him would rather wait to be picked. Consequently, not one soldier from 1-15th FA was forced to fill those MOS slots for the 2-17th. They had enough, thanks to brave soldiers like SPC. Brad Beard. Thanks for the laughs buddy, thanks for good times had 'down range'; you will forever be missed. And one day, when my children ask about war or the times I spent as a soldier in the US Army... I will tell them stories of the brave friends I knew, and that of SPC. Bradley Beard. In my mind, the true measure of a mans character is not what he does when adversity is thrust upon him, its what he does when adversity is thrust on those around him... to help, or to run? We know what Brad did... God bless

Bradley, I want you to know just what great parents you have. How they have blessed the lives of those they've met along their journey of grief. I know that you were just as great a person as your parents. I have been blessed to know both of them.
May you always be remembered and I will never forget you

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers.
The Wind on The Downs
“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”
(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )
Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….
“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”
I did not know Bradley, but I am remembering
his service. He is my hero. !

The Other Side
i'm over on the other side
where life and death softly divide.
left my skin and bones behind
now i'm over on the other side.
can you feel me there with you?
my breath is gone but i'm not through.
loved you then and i still do
from over on the other side.
i can fly. really fly.
below the earth ... all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.
it's good here on the other side.
the sweetest songs...the bluest skies.
thank you for the tears you cried
but it's good here on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth...all through the sky.
tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side
the world is smaller than a needle's eye.
where life and death softly divide.
when you leave your skin and bones behind
i'll be waiting on the other side.
i can fly. really fly. below the earth ... all through the sky.
go tell em all i did not die.
i'm just over on the other side.

To Elizabeth, I’m not sure if you visit this site dedicated to your son or not. Hello, my name is CPT Paul Button. Today I had to complete the CAO / CNO training course that you so bravely participated in. I was terrified of the idea of having to perform the difficult, but extremely important duty of a CNO. I’ve been in the Army for nearly 20yrs. and have lost friends in combat along the way. I became an officer 9yrs ago, and now I assume the possibility of performing the difficult task of a CNO. I can tell Bradley was blessed with a very special mother, someone I'm sure he was very proud of. I hope that you do not perceive this note to be inappropriate, but I was truly moved by your letter to your CNO. I will never fully understand all that you and family have suffered, but I want to personally thank you for your courage. My fear subsided and I was reassured after listening to your letter. You will probably never realize the number of soldiers that you have helped deal with this enormous responsibility. I will arm myself with your courage and bravery; I thank you from the bottom of my heart. God Bless.

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend (KIA on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.
REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

After reading your message in TAPS magazine, I was moved to send you my sincerest sympathies. While I find it hard to come up with the "right" words, what I would like to convey to you is only found in the tears rolling down my cheeks and the heartache that I feel from your most eloquent sharing of your journey.
I am a new civilian-volunteer for TAPS, who, in the spirit of honor and acknowledgement, want to give back to our fallen heroes and their families.
I hope that this heartfelt note brings you some support during your journey of this life without your beloved son.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family, and with Brad.
Peace be with you.

To the Family of Spc. Bradley S. Beard:
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courgeous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life. We lost our son 12/1/05.
I know first hand there are no words right now that will bring you the comfort and peace you need. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you mourn this loss. We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with. I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally, but none of these courageous men and women will be forgotten. They will never be able to be replaced, but sometime, someday your loving memories will help to sustain you. This courageous soldier will forever now be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well. To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort. When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero. God Bless this courageous soldier and family.
