Handsome wonderful Soldier Angel, I think of you every single day. STILL remember your family´s visit to Doug and Babesey house in Hawaii after you took flight on your Wings of Shields.
Doug Kelley is sadly no longer with us, but I´m certain he has been excellent Angel company for you. Please...hug HIM for all those who miss him as much as the ones who miss YOU Colby.
MUCH ALOHA to you AND yours. ALWAYS XOXO
Fly High My Angel
On the wings of the wind
Where I will join you
And see you again
On a beautiful day
When I will fall
When God decides
My ultimate call
We´ll laugh and we´ll play
On wings we will fly
For on that day
There´s no reason to cry
We live to serve
And God will see
The rewards we deserve
Is what we achieve
Until that day
You will go where I go
In my heart you will stay
For I love you so

Brother, I´m soo sorry for being so late to this. You were my best friend in 5 -7th grade. I miss you and think of you often. I remember spending the night and playing Genisis all day then riding our bikes around town. Plus causing trouble when they shot the movie "Truman" downtown. I´ll never forget the time we spent and your grandparents playing. I´m sorry I never kept in touch as much as I should have, after my Mom was killed and moved to Leavenworth. But you will always be my brother.
Want to, Thank you for your service and will always have mad respect for all you´ve done for this country.

Hello,
We apologize for being so late in expressing our deepest condolences to you and your family. We want you to know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and several of these will be dedicated to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo, service branch, rank and hometown of Colby Mace Farnan US Army Private 1st Class.
We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals from across the American youth hockey community, their families, friends and others who support our mission.
We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you safe and strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

Colby, Just wanted to say what an Inspiration your Sacrafice, and Your Family's Responce to it; have been to me as an Older Vet. I didn't meet you personally, but thru your parents, and my being involved with The Battlefield Cross Project; i've seen First Hand Your Influence in the Comfort and Support offered to other families that have lost a Son, or Daughter; and the Same for the Whole Communities.
As you Saw: your Dad made a pretty good attempt to Join You; But I guess The Creator Still has Good Works, that only he can do, here on the planet. Colby, we miss you each and every day. i thought of you especially today as i passed out the scholarships in your name. they went to some really good kids whose parents were so supportive of us when you were killed and to this day. Lexi Collier is so grown you would not recognize her, Hunter Faris is so smart and Hayden Searcy is such a supporter of you and all that you are. Coach Danny Brown's son, Todd, recived one of them as well. He retold a great story of you and Danny. It was a good day but one I would surely trade for just a few more days with you here. dad

Dearest Pat, Dede, Kristen & Family,
I recently wrote this for someone who meant the world to me and in that essence, someone I loved very very much. It is simply entitled: "FLY HIGH MY ANGEL"
Fly High My Angel
On the Wings of the Wind
Where I will join you
And see you again
On a beautiful day
When I will fall
When God decides
My ultimate call
We'll laugh and we'll play
On Wings we will fly
For on that day
There's no reason to cry
We live to serve
And God will see
The rewards we deserve
Is what we achieve
Until that day
You will go where I go
In my heart you will stay
For I love you
Please know that your entire family, Colby and Finn included-are always in my poignant thoughts and prayers.
Aloha Always,
Kalei

Colby into the Christmas season and another year without you and Finn. The beginning of the season, Thanksgiving just is not the same any more. Still reasons to be thankful but it just doesn't have the same fun feel of past Thanksgivings. Now the Christmas season begins, mom and i do not do much for each other but ceretainly try to make sure that others get a Christmas that they should have. Kristen, Chris and Kinslee will celebrate another Christmas, this one with all of us in Weston. Hopefully we will all be able to make the days cheerful even without the presence of Finn and you. I miss you and wish that i could make some more memories with you, repeatedly sharing the ones we had are great but i miss you and what you would be doing. Those are the thoughts that haunt and leave us all sad. Miss you Colby. Love Dad

Colby, Thanks for coming to me in my dreams last night to tell me that it will be okay. Yesterday was so hard for me. It's so difficult to hear so much about other's happiness when their soldiers to come home because I want to happy for them. But, I can't because I will never, ever forget that my favorite soldier never did. It kills me inside because I want to laugh and jump up and down with the rest of them, but all I feel is a gut-wrenching pain that tortures me from the inside out. I love you and miss you so much. I know you told me that it will be okay and to be strong for you, but it’s so tough. I promise to keep trying though and to be happy for others. I’ll do my best to be a good person and keep working on being supportive for others. Please come to me more often, I can always use the advice. Love you

Colby - I've never been able to write anything on "your wall" because just thinking about you makes me cry and forget any lucid thought I might have. The time we're having here now is horrible but I'm sure you know that. I always try to think about the good memories I have of you - the time you thought Kelli was drinking beer and told on her (and I told you she was 22!) and the time watching the Chiefs game at your house and you wrote all over my surgical shoes. You were always the most thoughtful, considerate young man and we all miss you so much. Take care of baby Finn.

It's always like that in the beginning of my dream, then as I try to talk to you and get closer and closer you get farther and farther away and I ask myself why does he go away? And then I remember, and I wake up. But it's always nice to see your smile! I would have better to see it and let it go to not to have seen it at all! Dear Colby,
My husband and I met your Dad this weekend and feel like we met you through him. There are questions we will all ask when we get to meet God. You already know your answers. We don't know if you see and hear us down here, but in case you can, you would be so proud of how your Dad is turning tragedy to triumph and how many thousands of lives you are still touching. We know because you touched ours. We are making a contribution through your Dad, and will wear the T Shirts and hats proudly as we tell your story to many more. I look forward to meeting you in Heaven and thank God for your Dad who is not wasting the pain, but is helping to heal others.

I have known Colby since he was a child, my sister was Colby & Kristens babysitter, and I saw them a lot there, and Colby and my son Scott Gibson have been friends since they were very small. We all lived close on top of the hill where his parents live now, and we lived just over the hill from them. They used to play up in the hills and woods by our houses, and remained good friends up until the untimely death of Colby. My whole family was close to Colby and his family, and we all love and miss him very much, and wish the family peace w/ this difficult time, which never goes completely away, a place in the heart that can never be filled again, and know that they also remember all the good times and the happiness he brought to many people. He was such a good guy, who left us too soon...a brave, honorable courageous man. Always remember he was a polite, good child, boy and man. We love and miss you, Colby, you remain in our hearts, forever!

Today is the day five years ago that our world was turned upside down, sideways, spun and then repeated over and over again. Colby you are so very missed today and every day. I know you are watching over us but it is such a day of emotional rollercoasters. Trying to laugh andremember the fun and good times you truly had and lived for in your 22 years. Then realizing that we are missing you still and all of the things we will never get to see, especially you again. There are so many people who remember and were touched by you it is truly amazing! You continue to live on in our hearts, minds and souls and the hole that is in our hearts too! Still I wonder why? Still I wait to see you come through the door, even though I know you never will! I laugh more than I cry now but the pain remains, Time does not heal but it does change life. I hope I am living life honoring and remembering you! I hope that one day i will see you again and that I have lived life to the fullest and met your expectations. You are truly the man! WORD! Love you Colby, Dad
