Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and to also let the Sieger Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one, Eric R. Sieger US Army Specialist. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,
Charlie Gili & Family

My love, I miss you more than words can say. I was talking to my mom about you tonight and remembering all the good times. I miss you so much and think of you all the time. Skyler is growing into such a beautiful little girl that you would be so proud of. She is a wonderful sister to her little sister Rhyan. I wish you could have seen her growing up but I know you are watching over us. I hope to come visit soon.
I love you with all my heart!

Baby brother,
Another Christmas has come and gone and you are missing. The kids are doing good. Wish you were here to see them and meet Christine and Kevin and to do good for everyone. I love and miss you very much and so does everyone else. I love you and miss you.

Eric, my boy, another Christmas has come and gone without you. James was with us with his family and that was good. How I remember your last Christmas with us! Wish I could see you now, as a grown man. But it wasn't meant to be. Thinking of you and missing you.

Prayer for Peace
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
And where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood, as to understand;
To be loved, as to love;
For it is in giving that we receive,
It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
Amen

Hi Eric, we visited your grave on Memorial Day. They had a very nice ceremony there. The 21 gun salutes, taps, the whole bit. The governor was there and Orrin Hatch, our Senator. I was very happy that you, and all the other fallen soldiers were honored in this way once again!
Thinking of you every day!

Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 2,800 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand-made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.
Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.
I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

To the family of Eric Sieger,
I am so sorry for what you are going through. Eric’s death is very difficult. Remember what a great job he did for his country. He is a true American Hero! I know that doesn’t make losing him any easier, but for a young life to have such meaning and purpose should make you very proud.
Six months ago my son was killed in Iraq. I visited his grave a few days ago and saw Eric had been buried almost next to my son. In a strange way, that comforted me. In life our military sons connect us with a lot of people. In death, bonds are formed with other families. We are the only ones who really know what we have been through.
Take pride in the strong, brave young man Eric became and the good job he did. Your family will always be close to my heart, not just because Eric was a hero, but because our sons final resting place is with each other. I realize they are not really there. They have gone on to something much better and it is us who are left, that are so sad. Every time I visit my son’s grave I will think of your family and say a prayer for you.
God bless you all.

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers
Soldiers write history, we pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever
Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away
Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go
We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light
Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray
Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

My husband, Sgt. James Green, was in the bradley with Eric when it flipped. I know I can't offer you any words to help ease your pain. I got to talk with Eric the day the guys left. All I remember is him holding his niece, in the dress he had bought for her and him not wanting to let her go. He promised me that he would take care of my husband and make sure he was ok. Now he can do that and still be able to watch over your family and his fellow soldiers. May you find peace, love and happiness in the memories you share.

Eric was an inspiration both as a hero soldier and as a friendly, outgoing kid. We haven't seen Eric since he snuck out as a kid and took a bus back to Roy and made a stop at our house. What bravery he showed even at such a young age and apparently kept through to maturity. My son, Trevor, attended North Park elementary with him and they had some good times especially remembering a birthday party he attended. My daughter, Sarah treasures Eric's sister Amber Lee as her childhood best friend and inspiration and Eric as the red-head, freckle face, tag-a-long, talkative brother. Sarah was extremely happy and surprised that Eric called her the week he deployed. He was the same upbeat kid we all remembered him to be. What a treasure that call has turned into. May all the families involved find comfort in knowing Eric is at peace and died as a hero to many. My family will continue to pray for comfort and peace for Eric's family and friends. God bless! To the family,
My husband Ryan Berg was KIA on Jan. 9. Ryan, Eric and I were family. In fact Eric is one of the reasons I met Ryan. I'll never forget him. The first day we met, a huge group of us went out in trucks and just drove around in the mud. The first time I spoke to Eric that day, a few guys were trying to be funny and throw some of us into this huge lake of mud. I thought Eric was running in to maybe grab me, but instead he saved my phone with this big smile on his face. I'll never forget that. There were several times that all three of us would just sit and talk. He was such a great guy and always made Ryan and I laugh. When I lost my husband, my world came crashing down and I didnt think it could get worse until I got the call about Eric. If you need anything, anything at all please get ahold of me. Eric was my little brother and I will never forget him. In fact just this past week I went and got a memorial on my arm for both of them. The guys in rear detachment are also wonderful so keep in touch with all of us please. Im here to help in anyway....
RIP Eric. I miss you bubba, go give Ryan a hard time for me and both of you better be watching out for us down here, life is boring without yall...My love always and just incase I never thanked you, thanks for saving my cell. I love you...

I wish that I had the words to take away your pain and suffering. I lost my own brother, PFC Jacob H. Allcott, in Iraq on 4/22/06. To the Family of Spc. Eric Sieger,
My name is Scottie Berg. My son was Spc. Ryan R. Berg. He was in Eric's unit. Ryan died 1/9/07. It's been 1 month today since he left us. He and Eric were good friends. They both were drivers of the Bradleys. Ryan thought a lot of your son. When I got the news last week about Eric, it was late Friday night and it was my first night to be by myself. I immediately got down on my knees and said a prayer to god to be with Eric's family. I also asked Ryan to go and be with Eric and his family because I knew their world had stopped the moment they opened that door and there were two soldiers standing there to give them the worse news they will ever receive. I'm not sure what to say to you because as I know there are no words that can help you through this. Like I said it's been a month and to me, his mom, it still seem like yesterday. Just know my son, Ryan, loved your son and I know he was waiting for him when he reach Heaven. I know they will watch over each other up there as they did down here. You and your family will be in my prayers daily. Thank you so much for what your son did for our country and for me and my family. He made the ultimate sacrifice for all of us. I am so proud of your son and he will never be forgotten. You may contact me anytime. May Eric Rest in Peace!

Love,

To the Family of this Hero:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.
