Lee Roy A. Camacho was a good Samaritan who would always pull over to give a ride to anyone walking on the streets, said his sister, Juanette Camacho. "He's a very outgoing person. He's a loving father and husband. He's a very good and nice person, especially to family members," she said. Camacho, 28, of Saipan, Mariana Islands, died Feb. 9 of wounds suffered from an explosion in Baqubah. He was assigned to Fort Hood. He was recruited in Guam to join the military in 2004. He underwent basic military training in May 2004 at Fort Benning and was later stationed in Texas. He was deployed to Iraq in October 2006. "Lee Roy joins the ranks of great Americans who have given their lives in the defense of our democracy and the pursuit of a peaceful world," said Rep. Pete A. Tenorio. He is survived by his wife, Velma, and three sons Lee Roy Jr., 8, Layton, 7, and Leven Joe, 3. At their father's funeral the three boys, dressed in black coats and black neckties, saluted their father's brown casket. Their father had taught them how to do it.
