Dear Family members of SPC Aaron Genevie and friends:
I live in Ohio, and wanted to let you know that a photo and information about your son Aaron came upon my Facebook page on April 16, 2024 which had been shared by PA Senator Doug Mastriano (whom I "follow"). The Senator posts many photos daily in remembrance of our fallen Heroes. A while back, I began to add a "comment" reflecting my thanks to these posts and then "shared" them. I am grateful for Aaron's willingness to serve and am so sorry for your loss. Also, as Aaron's photo bears a very strong resemblance to one of my sons, I kept feeling "pulled" to find a way to express my sympathy. Although I cannot imagine the depth of your loss, please know that I am thinking of you and am keeping you in prayer. Sincerely, Jane Martin, Urbana, OH

Aaron, I still think about you today. Just yesterday, I told someone about you and how hard it was to get you in the Army. But that's all you wanted. So, together, we got it done. I was deeply saddened when I heard of your passing. I still am. You are a hero and I promise you will never be forgotten by this old Soldier. I just had my "Freedom isn't Free" tattoo updated with something specifically for you. Some gave all. Thank you. Rest in peace.

Hello,
We would like to express our deepest condolences and also let the Genevie Family know that we recently sent Care Packages to American troops in the war zones. Each box carried a dedication sheet that includes the name, service information and a photo of your loved one. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals in the youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless you and keep you strong.
Sincerely,

Hello,
I represent PRAYER SHAWLS 4 FALLEN SOLDIERS (PS4FS), an organization that since October 2007 has sent over 3,100 prayer shawls to military families who have lost a loved one. We are an organization of over 240 groups from all over the country. We make every effort to reach families even when post cards are returned after they have moved. Would you kindly send me a contact email/address so that we may send a loving hand-made prayer shawl to the family? Thank you!

Holding you all in my thoughts and prayers today.

The Wind on The Downs

“I like to think of you as brown and tall,
As strong and living as you used to be,
In khaki tunic, Sam Brown belt and all,
And standing there and laughing down at me.
Because they tell me, dear, that you are dead,
Because I can no longer see your face,
You have not died, it is not true, instead
You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe;
I hear you laughing as you used to do,
Yet loving all the things I think of you;
And knowing you are happy, should I grieve?
You follow and are watchful where I go.”

(Written by Marian Allen during World War l )

Two lines that I wish you to keep near your heart…….

“You seek adventure in some other place.
That you are round about me, I believe”

Please contact me and I will email you back a copy of an

I did not know Aaron, but I am remembering on
this day he gave his all.
He is my hero.

Dear Aaron,

I can't believe tomorrow it will be a year since they took you away from me. That was the most devastating and life changing day of my life. I am heartbroken. Life has been tough for me..... trying to go on knowing I'll never hear your voice again, get a hug from you, a kiss or you telling me " I Love You Mom", or hear you say something to make me laugh. Sometimes I find it hard to function without my precious son. I miss you so much. I think of you everyday and I know you know how much I visit you. I am so proud of you for doing what you thought was your obligation to your country. You are my son, my best friend and my Hero. I love you with all my heart.

Love Always and Forever,

Dear Aaron, It's hard to believe that a week from today it will be a year since you were so tragically taken from us. I know that you have met your grandfather in heaven and all the other family members that proceeded you there. It has been a hard year for your family, especially your mom... I know, like a lot of families, we probably didn't tell you often enough how much you meant to us and how much you were loved. Aaron you gave the ultimate sacrifice for our country and we are so very proud of you. You will always be in a special place in our hearts. Although you are gone we will never forget you... All of our love, Aunt Sandy, Uncle Claude and Nathan

It is hard to believe that it has been almost a year since we lost you. You were a great nephew and I have always been proud of you, even though we had our problems problems in the past. You followed in your grandfather's and uncle's footsteps and are one of the hero's that gave your own life so the rest of us could be free. I am proud of you and will always love you very much.

All of us here at Bandit Troop will miss Aaron. He was a great friend to me and was there for me time to time. Aaron,

I remember talking on the phone every night while you were home for christmas... and just how nice it was to hear your voice. And when you got back to Riley and I came to see you, how sad you looked and all your stuff was packed up and you were getting ready to leave. And it was like you already knew, anybody could see it that looked deep into your eyes. I dont know how long we sat there and talked but I could have listened and watched you forever that one night. I dont know what it was about you, but you had the most amazing mouth and the softest most gorgeous eyes. I was in love with you from the first time I saw you. And even though it hurt so bad at the time... now I understand a lot of things and why you told me what you did. It's like I still have a lot of questions and "what ifs" and I know I need to let them go, and you know it's hard, but I'm trying. I can't wait for the day that I can meet up with you, and you can answer all those questions for me.

I used to drive by your barracks every day after you deployed, and it was the saddest feeling in the world because I still wanted more time with you. I'm still in Iraq, but I know I'll still drive by those barracks every day when I get back, where we shared our last night together. And every day you'll be in my heart and I'll be thinking of you, just like every day before you left.

In a month, it'll be a year and it's still the hardest thing to come to terms with. I'm so sorry it has taken me this long... but there will never be another day that goes by that you wont hear from me.

I miss you so much Aaron and I'll come see you when I get back to the states.

Love forever,
-Becca

Happy Birthday Aaron. I am sorry that I never had the chance to meet you. I am sure you were a wonderful man. I never had the chance to meet your family but they are special also and my heart goes out to them. You are part of my Franklin County family and I feel close to all of you. Aaron's birthday is the same (with the exception that Eddie was a year older) as my nephew Sgt. Edward W. Shaffer who also gave the supreme sacrifice in Iraq for all of us. You will always be our hero. I hope your family finds some comfort knowing you will never be forgotten.

August 16, 2007

There is nothing that I can say or do to take away the pain or bring you peace in your time of sorrow, but I will offer you and your family my heart felt condolences. I also offer you my prayers that in time the pain will easy and the memories of your HERO will carry you through each day and night. I want to thank your HERO, for his/her selfless act of becoming a member of the armed forces, his/her willingness to defend the United States of America, all that we hold sacred and for the sacrifice that will forever be etched in the memories of all those who knew him/her. Though tears can never bring him/her back, we hope that our tears express our gratitude for the sacrifice that he/she made and our sorrow at his/her passing. I believe for every fallen HERO there is a star shining brightly up above to remind us of the precious gift we were given.

Your mission on earth is complete and you are now a member of GOD’s Heavenly armed forces. Stand down brave warrior and take your rightful place in Heaven with all the HEROES who have passed before.

I made a special promise to LE RON A. WILSON, a dear family friend who joined the Army with three other friends, one of whom is my son (Le Ron was killed in action on 07/06/07 at the age of 18) on the day he was laid to rest as I touched his coffin, that I would never forget him nor would I forget those that gave their lives for our country before him, with him and after him and so when I came across www.legacy.com, I thought what a great way to keep my promise to Le Ron, so I will continue to leave tributes in each guest book until the day there is no longer the need to leave these tributes to a FALLEN HERO.

REST IN PEACE, HERO, YOU WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN!!

“Soldier”
Written to Honor the Service of Our Fallen Soldiers

Soldiers write history…they pay the price
Many miles distant, you live the life
Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still

We hope and pray that all will find peace
In God, in the flag, in memories of valor
Gone now, our pride and courage you see
“An Army of One” our motto forever

Willing to risk all for love of our Brothers
We’re still Your Soldiers…and we showed the way
Our Lives too short, now pray for the others
Lived free died Heroes in lands far away

Deep within souls all cherished our Service
We’ll always have what some never know
Courage and Honor, our names forever
Lived life with purpose…just our time to go

We march in the Heavens with Honor and Glory
Missions accomplished we fought the Good Fight
Many years from now…we’ll tell the full story
Until that Day we will live in the Light

Our lives we laid down in a land far away
Still watching o’er you this night and by day
No need to talk…just know we are with you
There in your hearts and we hear what you pray

Yes we are your soldiers
Our lives we laid down
Still We guard o’er you
Still Duty bound

Entered the Battle of our own free will
Out of Duty for Country, and we’d do it still
We’ll always have what some never know
Lived life with purpose…it was our time to go

My deepest condolences to the Genevie family. My son is serving in the same squadron as Aaron. He didn't mention names when he called me to say they'd lost some men, but he was deeply affected by this and it broke my heart. I've been thinking about the families of these brave soldiers since the day he called, before I even knew their names. I pray for healing in your hearts as you cope with Aaron's loss. May he always be remembered for his heroism and love of country along with the special memories you have of him from his youth. God bless you all.

To Aaron's family, as the days and weeks pass, and as you return to life’s routine, may you continue to feel comforted by the love and support of family, friends, and all Americans for the sacrifice of one of your family members for our freedom. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. May you find comfort in the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father.

To the Family and Friends of this Soldier:
I will stand in grief with this soldier's family to honor him. For every fallen HERO there is a bright star that shines in the evening sky to remind us of the cherished gift we were given – even if for too short a time.
My heart breaks again as I sign yet another guest book of another courageous young soldier who gave their life so selflessly. I wish I never found myself in a position to have to sign another guestbook for the rest of my life, but I promised Brent that neither he nor any like him would be forgotten and so I will continue until the day there is no longer the need.
We lost our son SFC Brent A. Adams on 12/1/05 and it seems like yesterday. I wish so badly there were things I could say to you right now to make the pain you are feeling go away, but I know first hand there simply are no words that will bring you the comfort and peace your heart aches for. Just know that you are not alone. My heart, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as you go through this tragedy moment by moment and as you mourn this loss.
We don't know each other, will probably never meet, but will forever be united in the loss of our Heroes. We have, unfortunately joined a group none of us wanted to join, an ever-growing group of families in this situation. May God grant you peace and strength to get through this and be able once again to smile at a memory rather than have only the tears that flow so easily now. To be so proud of your loved one and so saddened at the same time is a mix of emotions very difficult to deal with as our hearts both burst with pride and pain together.
I am sorry that I never knew your soldier personally. While they can never be replaced, neither will they ever be forgotten. You must trust that sometime, someday the loving memories you have will help to sustain you and help you go on. This courageous soldier will forever be your Angel watching over you all for the rest of your lives. It's what brings me some measure of peace and comfort and I hope it will you as well.
To his family and friends in pain, I offer this comfort: When you find yourself in that dark sorrowful place, think not only of how you will miss him, but instead recall the years, days, hours and minutes gifted to you by his presence. The one thing that cannot be taken from you is your wonderful memories that now will mean more than ever.
If you ever want to talk, I'm only an e:mail away and would love for you to tell me more about your Hero.
God Bless this soldier and family who gave all and God Bless legacy.com for setting up this site where families can so quickly share their condolences and prayers with others like themselves.

I am Deeply Saddened to learn of the loss of Pfc. Aaron M. Genevie,
The Price this Brave Young Soldier and his family have paid for this country and for freedom, Will Never Be Forgotten.

May Aaron rest safely in the Loving Care of God and may the Grace and Comfort of the Lord be with the Genevie family.
There will Never Be Enough Ways to Humbly Thank these Heroes for their Supreme Sacrifice, my brother among them. KIA~Vietnam, 1967.

"Cast thy burden upon the Lord,
and He shall sustain thee."
~ Psalm 55:22 ~

Hoping you can feel the thoughts of caring and support that surround you today and in the days ahead, as this Country mourns with you, for Someone Very Precious to you, Who Is A Hero to all of us.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.
