Rhoda France
SPARTANBURG, SC-- Rhoda Dowling France, 67, died at home February 24, 2015. She was born in Nahunta, GA, to the late Thomas Alvin Dowling and Margaret Estell O'berry Dowling. She was the widow of, Joseph Henry Douglas, Sr., her first husband, and Franklin Edward France, Jr., her second husband.
She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Fairforest, SC, and a former resident of Florida until moving to Spartanburg in 2009. While living in Florida, she worked as a cook and waitress at Country Kitchen. She was a selfless person, a great Mama with godly love, a 'Goodsie Gal', and to know her was to love her.
Mrs. France is survived by sons, Joseph H. Douglas, Jr. (Lisa) of Inman and Alvin E. Douglas (Tina) of Spartanburg; a daughter, Sheila Douglas Gosnell (Richard) of Fingerville; four sisters, Bonnie D. Carney and Opal Dowling both of Fairforest, Carol D. King (Terry) of St. Augustine, FL and Ouida D. Biggs (David) of Boiling Springs; a brother, Evan Dowling (Gail) of Boiling Springs; 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by brothers Thomas and Russell Dowling.
Memorial services will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 3 at Trinity Baptist Church, 390 Wingo Heights Rd., Spartanburg, SC, officiated by Pastor Shawn Rinehart and Mr. Evan Dowling.

Dear Family, we are so very sorry for your deep pain. Rhoda was so precious...always so loving, so kind and sweet! She was loved by all who knew her and she will be missed by them too!! Y'all took such great care of her, she was so blessed to have you in her life! Her faith is sight now and she is enjoying all of Heaven!! Know Mom and Pop Dowling are so happy to see her!!
