Mildred Holmes Obituary
Mildred Gordon Holmes, 98 of Warrenton, VA died September 8, 2008 at the Fauquier Hospital.
She was born Nov. 5, 1909 in Madison County, VA the eldest of five children of John and Mary Estes Gordon. Her siblings were the late John Gordon of Fredericksburg, Hiram Gordon of Culpeper, VA, Ruth Lohr of Madison, VA, and Hilda Sudduth of Warrenton. Besides her siblings, she was preceded in death in 1972 by her husband- Harvey Holmes.
Mrs. Holmes was a registered nurse at the Fauquier Hospital, and then went to work for Dr. James B. Hutt, Jr. and later for 25 years for Dr. Eric Maybach retiring at age 85. She celebrated her life helping others. She was a longtime member of Warrenton United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters- Mary Anne Eustace of Catlett, VA and Sandra Romine of Midland, VA; three grandchildren- Brad Eustace, Jeff Romine and Chris Romine.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 PM Thursday at Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton, VA where funeral services will be held on Friday, Sept. 12 at 2:00 PM. Interment at Warrenton Cemetery.
