I WORK FOR HOME INSTEAD AND BOBBY WAS A CLIENT OF MINE. I HAVE NEVER MET ANY ONE THAT IT WAS SUCH A JOY TO TAKE CARE OF. ANGEL HAS SAID IT ALL IN HER POEM. I SAW BOBBY MONDAY AT HOSPICE AND SHE KNEW ME AND SPOKE MY NAME SO AFFECTIONLY. SO GLAD I MADE THAT VISIT.

Barbara was a cousin of my Dad, Jesse D. Neal,Jr. The "Neal boys" were big teasers and she took it well. I know they are all in heaven celebrating together. What a peace to know we will all be together when we leave this place. The most outstanding thing I remember about Barbara when I was young, she was the first adult I ever saw that wore braces on her teeth. I liked to hear her talk and she had the most beautiful smile.

Carl, Just wanted to express our sympathy for the loss of your aunt. Donna and I always enjoyed going next door to say hello when we were at Doc and Sue's house. Even long after the Browns sold their house we would occasionally stop in and see her. Last Christmas we had a chance to take our children by and she as well as they had a wonderful time learning about each other. She was able to show off some of her beautiful Christmas decorations from years past when they were made of glass instead of plastic and Kylee and Maverick were so impressed. She was so gracious as they looked at them as I sat there worried about their fragility and told me to let my kids be kids and not to hold back their curiousity. Such a beautiful, gracious woman who truly cared so much for others: we'll all miss her. She had such wonderful stories to tell of things like when she and Mr. Marshburn flew to Jacksonville, FL in an Ercoupe and she and the children enjoyed talking about what fun it was to fly in an open cockpit airplane. She always enjoyed your visits and talked about what you were doing with your life with pride. Heaven will be an even better place with such a good Christian woman in it but we will surely miss her. Our best to you and your family,
Gen, Donna, Kylee, and Maverick Jones

I enjoyed getting to know Barbara in the last few years, as she and my late husband, Gene Neal, were related. She related that she remembered pushing him in the baby carriage as a young girl. We had dinner together this past December and I learned more of her history. She especially spoke fondly of her nephew with a boating business there in Wilmington.

For a grandmother we prayed
And God brought us here to you
For almost 9 years you stayed
A precious friend and neighbor too.

In 1926 there was a happy hour
When your mother gave you birth.
On that day came a beautiful flower,
And your presence blessed the earth.

2012 came another happy start
When you prayed a prayer of faith.
You confirmed Jesus in your heart
"Good job. You've done great!"

The time you spent on earth
Was 88 years long,
And ever since your birth
You've enjoyed most every song.

You showed us Harry James
And Benny Goodman too.
You remember all the names
And we owe a big "Thank You!"

You're precious in God's sight
And Really in our sight too.
With tears we'll say goodnight,
But we'll see you again real soon.

Yesterday you went to rest
To sleep and leave our scene
To go and see God's best
And be treated like a queen!
(Probably wearing green :-)

"Hurry back" you'd always say
Whenever we left your beach
Now you're on your way
To a mansion briefly out of our reach

It's now graduation time;
Your work is really done.
No more hills to climb.
It's time to have some fun.

May The Lord bless you and keep you
Today and evermore.
You've brought much joy to our lives.
You could not have done more.

We love you, Mrs B.
We'll miss you quite a while
Then we'll go to where you are
And greet you with a smile :-)

May The Lord bless you abundantly
And give you peace as you rest. Isaiah 57:1-2

Bobbie was a special person who brightened our days in the staff room at the Northeast Library for many years. When we were still manually calling people to pick up reserves, her gracious voice greeted thousands of people over time with the welcome message that "the item you requested is available for pick-up at the Northeast Library." She has been a welcome visitor, regularly dropping by the library with a kind word for staff. She will be missed.
