Dear Strauss Family,
My prayers and thoughts go out to you all for your loss. I've read the many memories that you and friends have had with Brian and what an amazing person. I'm a friend of Mike's and I'm sure that Brian shared many excellent qualities of his older brother. I'm there for you Mike. Take care, stay strong and see you soon....Chu

Dear Janet, Mike, Michael, Brenda, Mike, and Hana,
Orv and I are just so upset over your loss. We've been busy with many unimportant things and had not checked the updates on CaringBridge recently. We just returned from a few days in Corpus Christi to stay with friends from Mille Lacs and when we returned we read the entries and were shocked to read that Brian had passed away. We had prayed for his health but feel sorry that we were not with you during his last days and his funeral. It was so comforting to read how he faced his death with such bravery. I called Dan tonight and talked to him about Brian. Tomorrow I will call and talk to you. I can't make it up to you for the fact that we were not there with you as we consider you all as very special friends. We've always considered Brian to be a handsome, smart, and very nice person. We are so sorry for your loss. Looking forward to our visits when we are back in Minnesota in May.
Love, Donna and Orv

Good bye little brother. I was always so proud of you and would not trade you in for anyone else in the world. You touched so many lives I dont think you really knew that. You know now and I know you are smiling down from Heaven. PS-take it easy on the sports bets w/ everyone up there. Especially Aunt Jeanie. I miss you so much Brian and wanted to be there to protect you and felt so helpless at the hospital the last 2 months. You take care. I put the tank bank w/ you for when I join you then you can give it back to me and we can continue exchanging it back and forth. Take care lil bro-Michael (big bro)

I have the hardest time with these entries. How do I sum up my best friend and do him justice. Strauss, you knew what you meant to Cole and I. Our lives won't be the same without you but I thank God for the time we did have together. You will be missed more than any words can come close to expressing.

Straussie,
Hadn't seen you at the Fridley VFW for awhile, thought you were "takin a break".
I just learned of this whole mess 2 hrs ago. Nice ya let a girl know what's up.
To the family...I'm very sorry for the pain you must feel. Please know that Brian doesn't want you to be sad. Remember what a wonderful friend he was to so very many of us, how many lives he touched, but most importantly, improved by passing through them - if only for a moment.
(I am responsible for his painted tip jar as well as the cardinal vase that I hope survived delivery to his mom at Christmas a couple years back)
I will miss him.

Uncle Mike & Aunt Janet (& family)-
I am in total shock & don't know what to say. I am so deeply sorry that Brian is no longer with us Physically - but spiritually I know is still holding everyones hand. As I sit here & try to write a heart felt note of sympathy - I can only stammer for the right words which aren't flowing very well - so I will just say I love you & my heart goes out to all of you.

There was only ONE "Strauss". What a smile, what a great sense of humor and most of all I could tell he had a heart of gold. He always made me laugh so hard! He used to make my Wednesdays a very fun and special time. I could tell he was a big fan of my band but I could also see he was a big fan of ALL his friends. And now he's got God,his biggest fan!, laughing and smiling. I will always remember Brian-"Strauss". To the family and friends of this very special guy, my heartfelt and sincere condolences. ~Bugsy~
