Sisters & Brothers;
Let go now, let them rest, and move forward, do not look back, look forward, and let good things begin to happen with what you can still cherish today, now. They left us tragically, but they are in a better place than you and I, one day we will meet again, do not be in a hurry. Look around, teach the young how to cherish each and every day, to love one another, take care of one another, because no one knows when you will see a loved one for the last time. When their spirit leaves us, we always have those beautiful memories in our hearts-no one can take that. But move on, and let them rest, they would not want to see you dwell on what could have been or what should have been, they would want you happy and doing good things in their memory. Let Go & Let God.
Peace & Prayers,
Thlxumet

Always know that our loved ones' spirits are in the breeze on a beautiful fresh spring morning, on the shimmering warmth of summer sun, the blustery gust of fall leaves, and the crisp chill of winter's frosty air. Always touching us with love and memories.

I have been thinking about the families that were left behind. I hope you are doing well. I was just thinking about how much we need to express our love to those around us now every single day. I just heard a parent say how she felt she couldn't talk to her teenage son. She would creep into his room after she felt he was asleep and tell him she loved him. Later when he was older he told her that he looked forward to that time. I guess I just want to encourage all of us, me included to tell those we love how much we appreciate them every day. I Was Very Close w/ The Girls~Alicia, Thurlene & Chanelle~ I Miss Them So Much. They Were Like Sisterz To Me. I can't stop thinking about them. It finally hit me that they are gone. School ain't the same without them. Chanelle & I loved basketball. We were on the same team since 7th grade. We became Undefeated for 2years. When we got to highschool, it got a little complicated but chanelle kept her head high and did her best. We were planning on going to a Basketball camp In St.Cloud, MN In June 2005. We always talked about it. That day it all went down, Chanelle & I went for a ride to see her Mom at her work, At First we had Chanelles' Sisters Car. We Went traded with her mom, then we went to my house and burned a cd, went to the Store & I Bought Her Lunch & One Of The Victimz..Steve Cobenais. I bought him lunch that day. Me and Chanelle would always go to the store and get popcorn chicken and a bottle of pepsi. she would get an eggroll too. that day, We were gonna skip school and go sit around at her cousins. When we left my house, my ma told us we better go back to school, We were almost to her cousins house. It was sunny out that day, She wanted me to drive because she didn't like driving in the sun. She said "whit what should we do?" I told her, "lets just go back to school..." I wish we would've just stayed at her cousins house. she would still be here. I take the blame for her being gone because she took my word for it. She was suppose to come over to my house after school and visit. Everybody would always see us together. We were like, unseperatable. After it all went down, they made everybody get on a bus. it was chaos. I kept asking myself, "where's chanelle?!" I kept thinking to myself if she was ok, I kept thinking to myself if all of the girls were ok. I can't stop thinking about her. I'm sitting in school right now, I can just cry. I miss her so much. School is so different without her! and the others. I always see them 3girls in my dreams. Sometimes I even see Chase. I know they are in a better place, but I wish they didn't have to go I wish they were still here.

It is almost a year ago I remember asking myself after my doctor informed me that I have cancer, "why me, why I had to suffer?" I learned later that the answer was easy, because everyone does. The answer to my startling question was right then, and it is right now. For many reasons it took me a long time to understand the deeper meaning of "because everyone does." Yes, we all suffer, but we don't have to suffer alone. I learned that we don't have to focus on our pain that we don't think about the pain everyone that is going through. My point is this, we need to come to realize that life is better, and our people at and everyone affected directly by the Red Lake incident a year ago can become good again. I agree with what Diane Brown of Blaine, MN said, "…this is a time to honor our loved ones with traditional feasts and fond memories as they have gone on their beautiful journey…" Thank you, Diane.
And, as we come to know who is suffering and why, we can think about how we might be able to help them deal with continue healing and minimizing hardship process. God Bless. C. Greyhat, [email protected] or [email protected], Page, Arizona

Today marks one year...lift your heads up, and begin to move forward, in Jesus name. Have the traditional healing ceremonies that have been past down for generations. Treasure and keep dear and near to your heart, all the memories. Pray for those still recovering from inuries, pray for the community, pray for the numerous professional staff members who have sacrificed hours trying to ease and heal the pain and grief. Pray for yourself. Then we must let them rest, their work is complete, and we give it all to God.

March 20, 2006
The Red Lake year anniversary is here - March 21st. This is a time to honor our loved ones with traditional feasts and fond memories as they have gone on their beautiful journey with our relatives. We will always remember them with undying love and they will always watch over us with undying love and comfort. There is no doubt as we have been taught this from our elders and the elders before them.
The Red Lake community, both reservation and urban, both children and adults, have to go forward and build a stronger communal lifestyle. Our leaders should be challenged to build many more positive opportunities that offers every child an environment to grow up in that provides TLC, traditional teachings, and security from harmful influences. We all have lived with the devastation that outside influences have had on our families. Now we must strive for a better balance in our own lives. Our future depends on it. Our lost loved ones will not have been in vain if we can come together and put aside our differences.

Ever since I read about this story in a magazine at my doctor's office, it has played very heavily on my heart and thoughts. People die every day, and horrible things happen in the world, but for some reason, this story has impacted me so deeply. I often cry for the lives lost and the many affected by what happened in Red Lake.
To the families and friends of the victims as well as the Red Lake community as a whole -- the entire country has embraced the pain of this tragedy as our own, and you are continuously in our thoughts and prayers. I know firsthand that knowing that your loved ones are at rest does not compensate for the fact that they are gone. However, allow yourselves to acknowledge the things that ease the pain, such as the notion of eternal rest and no more pain. Also -- take the beautiful spirit that each of them were and keep it going. Too often people's names are forgotten once they have passed, but embrace the things that they gave to and did for you in your every day lives, and enstill them in your own lives to keep their spirit alive.
My prayers are with you constantly. God bless and may the ones who lost their lives rest in peace.

The strongest, sharpest blades are forged in fire. Either you will melt or you will be tempered with great strength by the sorrow you bare. This is what the lessons of our ancestors' lives has taught. They suffered greatly; many perished, some survived. Of those that survived, some suffered and others rose and stood tall. It is a choice that you can make- or let life make for you if you do nothing. Turn your tragedy into a triumph so that those who have passed on are honored. Our thoughts are with you.
