Harry Thoren Obituary

Harry C. Thoren, 75, of Fort Dodge Kansas, formerly an Auburn, MA resident, passed away on February 8, 2008 after an illness.

Harry was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was a graduate of Auburn High School and attended University of Mass., Amherst. Before moving to Kansas, he was employed by Guaranty Bank & Trust of Worcester; Paine-Weber of Boston; owned a dairy farm in Vergennes, Vermont, and owned Thoren's Oil Company in Auburn. Prior to his retirement, Harry was employed by The State of Kansas.

Born in Auburn, Harry was predeceased by parents, Sven E. and Marion I. (Barnes) Thoren and brother, Fred W. Thoren. Survivors include: sister, Betty Benoit of North Grafton; nieces: Kimberly Aldrich, Robin Pineault, Jill Sullivan, and nephew Christopher Benoit. Also included are: grandnieces and nephews, a great-grand niece, and cousins.

Memorial visiting hours will be held Saturday, June 21, 2008 from 11:00am - 12:00 noon at Britton Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn, MA. The burial following the service will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help find a cure for diabetes to "The Iacocca Foundation," 17 Arlington Street, Boston, MA 02116.
