Lucien Dionne Obituary

Lucien J. Dionne, 68, of Northbridge, formerly of Uxbridge, died in his home on Friday, June 20th, after a long illness.

He leaves his wife of 43 years, Jeannine L. (Desrosiers) Dionne; 2 children: Lisa M. Dionne of Northbridge and John M. Dionne of Billerica; 2 grandchildren: Annabelle G. Dionne and Daniel J. Dionne, both of Billerica; a brother, Roger J. Dionne of Northbridge; a sister, Yvette R. Baril of Uxbridge; nephews and nieces. His sister, Jeannette Poudrier of North Uxbridge, predeceased him. He was born in the Linwood village of Uxbridge on September 20, 1939, a son of the late Joseph and Yvonne (Roy) Dionne, and lived in Uxbridge for most of his life before moving to Northbridge in 1993.

Mr. Dionne worked as a cook at St. Camillus Nursing Home for several years before he retired in 2001. Previously, he had worked as a garment cutter for Anthony Roberts Rainwear, Milford, for many years and then as a machinist for several years at the Whitin Machine Works, Whitinsville. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Parish, Northbridge, Bishop O'Reilly Assembly #399 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Worcester, and Uxbridge Council #1562, Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening, jigsaw puzzles, constructing Victorian dollhouses, making models of all sorts and traveling with Jeannine through Europe, the Middle East, Canada, and the U.S.

His Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 AM on Friday, June 27th, in St. Peter's Catholic Church, 39 Church Ave. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Whitinsville. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Abby's House, 52 High St., Worcester, MA 01609
