William Blair Obituary

William H. Blair, 80, died Tuesday, July 15, in the Beaumont Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. His wife, Marilyn (Wood) Blair, died in 2000. He is survived by two sons, Steven W. Blair, of Leicester, and Kenneth M. Blair, of Burlington; a daughter, Susan Lussier, of Northbridge; a brother, Donald Blair,of New London, NH; five sisters, Louise Roy and Frances Joeschke, of Northbridge; Rose Frieswick, of Whitinsville; Marilyn Boyd, of Dudley; and Barbara Smythe, of Keene, NH; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by four brothers, James, John, Earl and Robert Blair.

Mr. Blair was born, January 31, 1928, in Northbridge, a son of James and Rose (Duquette) Blair, and was a lifelong resident. He was a graduate of Northbridge High School.

A stationery engineer, he worked 20 years at the UMass Medical School before retiring in 1993. He also worked at the former Whitin Machine Works and at Kupfer Brothers in Northbridge.

Mr. Blair was a member of the Rockdale Congregational Church.

A funeral will be held at 11 AM, Friday, July 18, in the Carr Funeral Home, 24 Hill Street, Whitinsville, preceded by a Calling Hour from 10-11 AM. Burial will follow in Riverdale Cemetery. Please omit flowers. Memorial donations may be made to the Activities Fund at the Beaumont Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, 85 Beaumont Drive, Northbridge, MA, 01588.

Susan and The Blair Family,
