Robert G. Savage

Robert G. Savage, 75, formerly of School St., Northbridge, died Sat., July 26, surrounded by his loving family.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rachel L. (Pepin) Savage; 3 children, Stephen R. Savage and his wife Barbara of Milford, Paula A. Fisette and her husband Robert of Uxbridge, and Debra J. DeSantis and her companion Jeffrey Kane of Northbridge; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; a sister, Judy Savage of Rutland; and several nephews and nieces. Born in N. Brookfield on Dec. 29, 1932, he was the son of Edmund and Stephanie (Rybak) Savage and lived in Northbridge 45 years. He had recently moved to W. Hartford Ave. in Uxbridge.

Mr. Savage owned and operated, with his wife, Rasava Printing Co. in N. Grafton for 32 years, retiring only this past month. Previously he worked at the Providence Journal and Norton Co. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving aboard the U.S.S. New Jersey. He was a member of Oliver Ashton American Legion Post 343 and St. Peter's Church in Northbridge. He served on the Northbridge Fire Dept. and enjoyed golf, snowmobiling and playing horseshoes.

His funeral will be held Tues., July 29 from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St., Whitinsville with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 39 Church Ave., Northbridge. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Mon., July 28 from 5 to 8 p.m. Donations may be made to St. Peter's Church, P.O. Box 446, Northbridge, MA 01534.
