Eileen Joyce Obituary

Eileen G. (Griswold) Joyce, 81, of 30 Carleton Place, died Friday, August 8, 2008, in River Terrace Healthcare, after an illness.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Raymond L. Joyce, Sr.; a son, Raymond L. Joyce, Jr., and a daughter, Elaine S. Fahey, both of Lancaster; six grandchildren: Raymond L. Joyce III, Jeffrey Joyce, Heidi Joyce, Amanda Sheridan, Jessie Fahey, and Sarah Fahey; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her granddaughter, Carrie Fahey.

Eileen was born in Boston, daughter of Donald S. and Helena S. (Davis) Griswold. She was a graduate of Lancaster High School, and Lasell College, Newton.

For sixty years, Eileen and her husband owned and operated R. L. Joyce Floor Covering of Lancaster.

She was served as President of the Clinton VFW Auxiliary, Post 523, was a past Regent of the John Joslin, Jr. Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and was a life-long Girl Scout.

Eileen's funeral will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2008, with a service at 11:30 a.m. in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church St., Clinton. Burial will follow in Eastwood Cemetery, Lancaster. Calling hours at the funeral home will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Flowers may be sent or donations may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, Central New England Region, 350 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01604.
