Sylvio Proulx Obituary

Sylvio A. Proulx, 94, of Main Street, died at home, Thursday, surrounded by his loving family. His wife was the late Doris L. (Blinn) Proulx, who died in 1991.

He is survived by his daughters, Theresa and her husband Earl Johnson of Holland, Ann and her husband Dave Rose of Charlton, and Jean Proulx of Sturbridge. He also leaves 6 grandsons, Eric Johnson of Monson, Carl Johnson and Brian Johnson both of Holland, Christopher Rose, Brad Rose, and Glen Rose all of Charlton; 9 great-grandchildren; a sister, Andrea Gevry of Webster; 2 brothers, Romeo Proulx of Long Island, NY, Raoul Proulx of Sebastopol, CA and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Rosaire Proulx, who died in 1971. He was born in Southbridge, Aug. 22, 1913, son of Ovide and Clara (Lavallee) Proulx. He was a member of Notre Dame Church and served in the US Navy Seabees during WWII. He was a member of the VFW Post 6055. Mr. Proulx owned and operated Syl's Auto Sales in Sturbridge for many years.

The funeral will be Monday, Aug. 18th from Sansoucy Funeral Home, 40 Marcy St.(handicap from Edward St.), Southbridge with a Mass at 10AM in Notre Dame Church, 446 Main St., Southbridge. Burial will be in New Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held at the funeral home from 8:30-9:30AM prior to the mass.

Brad (and the entire Rose Family) -

We were so sorry to hear of your grandfather's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this challenging time.
