Dear Mark and Nichole,
We are sorry for all the sadness you now are having to endure. I've always thought that the worst thing that can happen to a parent is to lose their child. I can only imagine. Our prayers are with you. God Bless.

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

O God, whose beloved Son did take little children into his
arms and bless them: Give us grace, we beseech thee, to
entrust this child Christie Lee to thy never failing care and love, and
bring us all to thy heavenly kingdom; through the same thy
Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with thee
and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

After the death of a child......

Please, don't ask me if I am over it yet.

I'll never be over it.

Please, don't tell me she's in a better place.

She isn't here with me.

Please, don't say, "at least she's no longer suffering".

I have yet to come to terms with why she had to suffer at all.

Please, don't tell me that you know how I feel - unless you've lost a child yourself.

Please, don't ask me if I feel better.

Bereavement isn't a condition that clears up.

Please, don't tell me "at least you had her for a short time".

What age would you choose for your child to die?

Please, don't tell me that "God never gives us more than we can bear".

Please, just say you're sorry.

Please, just remember my child.

Please, just let me talk about my child.

Please, mention my child's name.
