To the entire Riley "CLAN"-
Our deepest sympathy goes out to each & everyone of you. Nothing compares to the loss of a Mother. Regardless of age or circumstances, it is very difficult. A Mother holds a family together through the good times & bad, through happiness & sorrow and I know your Mom had a lot of stregnth & faith in God to help her to raise 16+ children!
She earned her very special place in heaven...
May God Bless her & keep her, until you all meet again...
We thought this short poem I came across might bring you some comfort in the difficult days ahead...
Our thoughts & prayers are with you all.

You can only have one mother patient, kind, and true;
No other friend in all the world, Will be the same to you.
When other friends forsake you, To mother you will return, For all her loving kindness, She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon her picture, Sweet memories we recall, Of a face so full of sunshine, And a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus, take this message, To our dear mother up above;
Tell her how we miss her, And give her all our love.

Dear Riley Family:

Regrefully, I cannot wish you my condolences on the loss of Marie,personally. At the present time, I am fighting a Viral infection, known as the Old Fashion Grippe. I was quite surprised when Fr. Walter had told me that Mom's maiden name was Fiore. That rang a bell that goes back to more than sixty years. Your mother worked part time, while in high school at the R & G Neckware Mfg on Green Street. My mother was a long time employee at the same shop. Marie Fiore was my mother's favorite teenager. In fact, my mother who had no daughters of her own, often remarked that if she had a daughter, she would want her to be like Marie, ambitious, thrifty, religious and high character. You all know that she had those attributes all her life. Please accept my condolences on your loss of an oustanding young lady who developed into Great Woman and Mother.

Sincerely,

Nicholas D. Mercadante

Peggy, Joe, Paul & Family, I am so sorry for the loss of your mom. Walking into Riley's, you would automatically look to the end of the long table to see if your mom was there, she would greet you with a smile, and if you were having a bad day, you would go to her for some words of wisdom, and somehow, with those few words from Mrs. Riley, you knew it had to be ok. She was an angel right here on earth. My sympathy to all of you.

September 7, 2008

To the Riley Family,
Many years have passed since the days of Harlow and Paine Street.The days of our youth and memories of the days of old. Thru the years I have known your MOM and you all from school days to work days and the memories have all been very fond. Your Mom was quite the person. Thru thick and thin she was there her smiles her words and her support. I know it has been a long time since I have seen or spoke to you and yours but the memories cannot be taken from us. Tho she may be gone to Lands unknown and heavens above she will never be gone. For thru her years she has taught you all the important elements which our lives are entertwined among friends love ones and family. These are the thoughts of kindness, the wisdom of faith and the heartness of love. For so long as you continue to live by these virtues she will never be gone forgotton or lost for she remains in the most important part of our everyday being. She will forever reamain in your hearts. I send forth to the RLIEY's and the Filipkowski's our deepest sympathies and prayers that JESUS our LORD will help you thru these trying times and comfort with his love. For now she is at the right hand of our LORD in PEACE..

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
