Roger Juaire Obituary

Roger F. Juaire, 80, of Marlborough, died Sat., Sept. 20, 2008 at Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center.

Born in Marlborough, he was the son of the late Francis and Eva (Perron) Juaire, and the husband of Anne (Gardner) Juaire, to whom he had been married for the past 57 yrs. He would have celebrated his 81st birthday, Sept. 23, 2008. A graduate of Marlborough Vocational School, he served in the US Navy during WWII.

Mr. Juaire had been employed as a machinist for the former King Instrument, Westborough, retiring in 1987. Following his retirement he remained active with various pastimes, but his life revolved around his large close knit family. He had been an integral member of the former St. Mary's Parish where through the yrs., he belonged to the Holy Name Society, was associated the Alouette's, and served on many committees. He was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and although not a formal member, played cribbage for over 25 yrs. at the Marlborough Fish and Game.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his sons; Peter Juaire and his wife Cheryl, of Marlborough, Philip Juaire and his wife Eileen, of Shrewsbury, his daughters; Mary-Ellen Duplessis and her husband Michael, of Marlborough, Elizabeth O'Neill and her husband David, of Feeding Hills, MA, Charlotte Melanson and her husband Ralph, of Grafton, Joanne Juaire of Marlborough, Jacqueline Juaire and her fiance Jim Mason of Auburn, and Natalie Naze and her husband Tim of Sterling, his brother; Leo Juaire and his wife Shirley of Meriden, CT, and his sisters; Sr. Irene Juaire, of Manchester, NH and Claire Davis and her husband Paul of Hudson, MA, 21 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his niece, Elizabeth (Prater) Naughton and her husband John, of Cohasset, and many other nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thurs. Sept 25, at 10:00 in the Immaculate Conception Church, Prospect St., Marlborough. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Beach St., Marlborough. Visiting hrs. will be held on Wed. from 4-7 pm in the Slattery Funeral Home, Inc., 40 Pleasant St., Marlborough.
