John Fields Obituary

John E. Fields, Sr., 44, of Brentwood Drive, died at home surrounded by his loving family five days prior to his 45th birthday on Friday, October 3, 2008, after a brief struggle with pancreatic cancer.

He leaves his wife of 19 years, Donna J. (Fuller) Fields; his children at home, John E. Fields, Jr., Jillian A. and Jennifer A. Fields; his mother, Dorothy L. (Allen) Fields of Worcester; four brothers, Richard P., Gary T. and Steven A. Fields all of Worcester and Robert M. Fields of Millbury; a sister, Gayle F. Crowley of Templeton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Louise A. and Marvin C. Fuller of Auburn; a brother-in-law, John M. Fuller; a sister-in-law, Susan M. Anderson; nephews and nieces. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Richard H. Fields and lived in Worcester before moving to Holden eight years ago.

John was a graduate of Worcester Vocational Technical High School. He worked for the City of Worcester Dept. of Public Works Reservoir Division since 1987 as a Head Pump Station Operator. He was the former owner of Double J Auto Sales in Worcester. He was a member of St. George's Church and the New England and the Mass. Water Works Associations.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The funeral for John will be held on Wednesday, October 8th, from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. George's Church, 38 Brattle St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations may be made to John Fields Benefit Fund, c/o Millbury Credit Union, 460 West Boylston St., Worcester, MA 01606.
