Vernon Blakely Obituary
He is survived by his friends of 11 years, Robert and Linda Flinton, and his friends at Alternatives Inc. in Whitinsville.
Born in North Andover, on June 25, 1922, he was the son of the late Robert C. and Ella (Mullen) Blakely. Vernon lived at the Monson State School for 47 years, before he became one of the first residents of Northbridge Home. Vernon has worked in the Sheltered Workshop and Bloch/ New England until 1997. He has been involved with Alternatives for 32 years.
He enjoyed traveling, bowling, going to the movies, the theater, dining out, and especially vacationing at his home on Cape Cod.
His funeral will be held on Tue. Oct 7, from Jackman Funeral Home 7 Mechanic St. Douglas, with a Mass at 11 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, Cross St. Whitinsville. Burial will be private. Calling hours at the funeral home in Douglas will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Tue. Oct. 7.
