Madeline Taylor Obituary

Madeline (Brodrick) Taylor, 74, of 275 Central Street, died Monday, October 6, 2008 in Radius Healthcare Center, Worcester, following an illness. She leaves her husband of 54 years, Robert H. Taylor; four sons: David E. Taylor of Shrewsbury, James D. Taylor of Westfield, Paul A.Taylor of Marlboro, and Harry R. and his wife, JoAnn Taylor of Rowlett, TX; two daughters: Cindy S. DeLeo of Clinton, and Jennifer A. Butler of Marlboro; three brothers: Robert Brodrick of FL, David Brodrick of Sterling, and Richard Brodrick of Newburgh, NY; four sisters: Elizabeth Cloutier, Marcia Brodrick and Phyllis Brodrick, all of Clinton, and Margaret and her husband, Patrick Windward of Lancaster; seven grandchildren: Colin, Kelly and Eric DeLeo, Brian and Chelsea Taylor, and Heather and Samantha Butler; many nieces and nephews. A brother, Earl Brodrick predeceased her.

Madeline was born and raised in Clinton, the daughter of George H. and Grace E. (Watson) Brodrick and was a graduate of Clinton High School, Class of 1952. She worked at the Clinton Item, and later as a bookkeeper for Wheeler's Garage for twenty-nine years, retiring in 2001. Madeline worked as a part-time Police and Fire Department dispatcher for the Town of Berlin for several years, and for four years as the Town's Tax Collector. A member of the Harleys Owner's Group, she enjoyed motorcycle riding with her husband, Bob. She was a member of the Berlin Senior Citizens, the Evening Guild, the Berlin Legion Auxiliary, and both a Girl Scout and Cub Scout Leader for many years.

Madeline's funeral will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2008 with a service at 10:00 a.m. in the McNally & Watson Funeral Home, 304 Church Street, Clinton. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Berlin. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, October 8 from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the Berlin Rescue Squad, 23 Linden Street, Berlin, MA 01503. www.mcnallywatson.com
