Daniel Rossetti Obituary

Daniel J. Rossetti, 26, of Worcester, died Friday, October 3rd in UMass-Memorial Medical Center from injuries received in a car accident.

He leaves his parents, John A. Rossetti, Jr. and Pamela A. (Jurgiel) Rossetti of Worcester; three brothers, Matthew J. Rossetti and his wife Asjia of Worcester, Jonathan E. Rossetti of Worcester, stationed in Norfolk, VA, and David N. Rossetti of Worcester; his fiancee, Brooke Gotto, who was the love of his life; his paternal grandparents, John and Mary (Stavros) Rossetti of Worcester; his maternal grandparents, Theresa (Rondeau) Desautels and her husband Frank, of Worcester, and George R. Jurgiel of Worcester. He also leaves aunt and uncle Vanessa and Doug Phethean, who loved him as a son and their children, Olivia and Christopher; aunt Valerie Rossetti, who always kept him dressed sharply when he was a young boy; his uncles, Stephen and his wife Diane Jurgiel and Gregory Jurgiel of Worcester; and cousins, Gregory, Cindy, Joseph, Stephanie and Michael; Kitty and Gary Dodakian, who also loved him as a son, and their children, Gary Peter and Rebecca of Shrewsbury and Donna Bilzarian of AZ and daughters, Rachelle Hale of NC and Jacquie Pietrewicz of AZ; and "Uncle" Phil Phethean of California; and many other family and friends and his dog Flash.

He was born in Calcutta, India and came here in 1982. He graduated from Doherty Memorial High School in 2001 and Worcester State College in 2005. Daniel helped manage the Kettle Brook Golf Club in Paxton. His passion for golf began when he attended the Green Hill Jr. Golf Program, which he later helped manage. He helped to run the Pro Shop at Green Hill, he worked for the New England PGA office, Calloway Golf Company, and it's Demo-Days and worked at Dick's Sporting Goods before getting his dream job at Kettle Brook in April. He was a regional golf-fitting specialist. He also co-owned and operated Green Hill Realty.

While he attended Doherty High School, Daniel ran cross-country and track and placed second in the junior varsity regional championship. A man of many talents, he played the piano and liked jazz, having taken lessons from Dick Odgren. Daniel sang in the All Saints Church Boys Choir from 1989 until 1992. He loved the New England Patriots, the New York Yankees, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls, but his idol was Tiger Woods.

Daniel's father John remembers that he loved his brothers and was the glue that pulled everyone together. He loved listening to Daniel's dreams and plans when he came to visit. He enjoyed being the best man in his brother Matt's wedding. He was loved and respected by his brother Jonathan and they were inseperable, and Daniel was like a big brother to all of his friends. He was his brother David's best friend, helping him to make the most out of life, despite David's illness. Matt will fondly remember Daniel's giving ways and the fact that he never expected anything in return. His mother Pamela will miss his hugs and ending every chat with, "I love you, Mama!" When she adopted him, she thought she was blessing him, but instead he blessed her. Brooke says she will always be his "Tume-Tume."

He was an uplifting spirit and took great pride in helping everyone and if you needed anything, he always "knew a guy." Daniel will be missed by the many people that he touched throughout his life.

Calling hours are from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Friday, October 10th in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, October 11th, in Worcester Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2 Airport Drive. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Green Hill Golf Course Jr. Program, 2 Green Hill Avenue, Worcester, MA 01605.

John and Mary, John and Pam, families, Brooke, and Gary and Kitty,

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

May you feel consoled and comforted by his love and peace,

My godness. I remember meeting you on Underwood St with all your brothers, when I would go over to Marys house. It was SO much fun playing baseball with you, swimming, I miss that. Then seeing you at DHS and seeing the man that you grew up to be...Brooke was a VERY lucky lady to have you. My deepest sympathy goes out to the Rossetti Family and Brooke. I hope that you all get through this. My prayers are with you.

Rossetti Family - Although I only met Dan a few times, it was obvious to me that he had a strong passion for life and incredible dedication to his family and friends. His easy going personality and friendliness had an immediate impact on me and it was impossible not to consider him a friend from the moment I met him. It is great to hear the stories of those who knew him best and remember the few times that I was fortunate enough to talk with him.

If there is anything that we can do for you, please do not hesitate to call. May God bless your entire family and give all of you strength and peace during this difficult time.

Dan (I know your watching over)
It was like yesterday when you were at Jimmy's house on Woodman Rd. playing sports in the driveway with all the guys. I was young and always remember you there for dinner and your smile always present. You will be missed by all very much but the memories will be cherished.

Words are difficult at a time like this, Danny was a friend and co worker for a long time. His smile and good natured attitude was infectious and I never heard him say a cross work. My prayers go to the entire family and to Brooke, a woman who I know he loved very much. I will see you on the first tee in Heaven when I get there my friend.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there,
I did not die.

Reputation is what men and women think of us; character is what God and the angels know of us.

Goodbyes are not forever
And nor is it the end
When angels come to call away
A loved one or a friend.
The empty place that's left behind
Within this world we know
Reminds us just how brief a stay
We have before we go.
So when it's time to bid farewell
To one we'll dearly miss
Let's just say we'll meet again
and promise them with this.....
The true gift is that love remains
Although we now must part...
Until forever and beyond
I'll keep you in my heart.

Be Still

Be still like the grass on a melancholy summer day
Be still like desert shrub.

Be calm and you will hear your loved one speak, in the stillness, in the calm, their love resounds.

If you are still this promise I make, you will hear the voice of your loved one helping you along your way.
