First I would like to say thank you to all the ppl out there for all your kind words and prayers for my sister Shelleigh. I can't begin to tell you all how i'm felling about what happened, I lost my sister who was my best friend, my brother,my mother, and so much more. I know she is in Gods hands now and is with my Mother and Father and the rest of the family. My sister has faught the good fight and has to fight no more. Now it's my turn to fight for her, and I don't mean with my fists, but with my heart and my brain. There are question's that need to be answered as to why this happened and I will find those answers with my dying breath. They say God has a plan, but I don't understand what it is, and if he had to bring my sister home he must need her to to straighten out something in heaven. Because if anyone knew my sister she wasn't afraid of anything or anyone. Shelleigh could walk through a mine field and come out without a scratch. So many ppl have called me and reached out to me that I know that my sister and I are truley blessed by all the the ppl that have written something or sent cards or called me. Again I would like to extend my deepest heart felt thanks to all who wrote something. My sister touch alot of ppl in different ways and she still is touching ppl. Well I will end here for now but but I will pick up the fight for my sister and trust me I will not rest till Shelleigh gets the justification that she deserves.
Thank you all for your carrying words.
Michael Wilcox.

Shelleigh, My Big Girl
Today I said a prayer for you. A prayer of love to let you know that you are loved. And to me a person will be loved forever, if you loved them at all. I will keep you in my heart always.
Michael,
My prayers, thoughts and love are with you always. Shelleigh will be missed terribly but when we think of her or even metion her name, it makes us smile. That is truly a blessing. She has touched so many lives both in her life and in her death. Keep her memory alive and use it to get through this very difficult time.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
Love always,

My heart is broken into a millon pieces. The loss is more than i can put into words. My Laughing Eyes is gone on to a better place. She is where she will loved even more than she IS loved here on earth. I miss her more than I can ever put into words, but I take comfort in knowing that where she is, one day I will see her again. How do I know? I trust The Father, and I asked. He sent me the answer by BUGS BUNNY. Yes.
Mike,
Thank you. The service was beautiful.Thank you so much for The Gift. I love you and will always keep you in my heart and prayers. And , don't forget. I know the Headlock.
Charlene, baby girl, you know she would walk thru fire to save a friend. She loves you . So do I .Be strong baby-girl. Wrap yourself up in The Lord. You will see her again.
Let not your heart be troubled,You believe in GOD,believe also in me .In My Father's house are many mansions;if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
ANd if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and recieve you to myself;that where I am, there you may be also.
I am the way, the truth and the life.No one comes to The Father except through me. JOHN14:1-3, 6.
There is no Greater Love, than The Love of Jesus. Ask him. You will never be the same, once you give him your heart, you will never be the same.
I love you Shell, and I miss you so much. But I know I will hear,"Well Dear", and look into those Laughing Eyes again. So my Dear Dear friend
Rest in peace. Love you always

Just a little poem that might help you through some of those sad days that lie ahead.
Home in Heaven
I'm safely home in heaven,
Though I know you miss me so,
The love I've always felt for you,
Within my heart still flows.
My spirit will remain with you
Every single day,appearing as a
Rainbow or as ocean waves at play.
I'm in the gentle rains that fall,
And in the morning dew,
All you see that's beautiful
Reflects my love for you.
I didn't mean to cause you pain,
My time had simply come.
The work that I was meant to do
On earth had all been done.
I'm safely home in heaven,
Where eternal peace is mine.
And where, and when God has called you, Too, I'll be forever Thine.
Love Jay, Jen, Mom, and Gram.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, ""I welcome you.""
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man.
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......""My day was not in vain.""
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Hello Mike;
I pray that you are gathering all the strength from the outpour of love that this community has for, your sister, Shelleigh...just as the community loved and cared for your Mom. Shelleigh had come from "good stock". One of Shelleigh's caring friends, my neice, Lori Skinner...shared with me...Shelleigh would shout-out..."Hey Skinner..." as they greeted one another some years back. I learned a lot about your sister...just from reading the kind and uplifting thoughts from those that she had touched...as well as from my neice, Lori...who feels the great lose of her sister/friend, Shelleigh. She is in our prayers.
...Mike...she might not be in body...but your sister will always be with you in heart. Absent from the body...present with the Lord...amen.
...and Shelleigh...no doubt...you are missed deeply...but will NEVER be forgotten. God bless you. Amen? AMEN!!!

Mike ~
I, like so many others, was truly shocked by your sister’s death. On the day I heard about it, I stopped what I was doing and sat still for awhile so that the tragic news could sink in.
As I sit here, reading the entries before mine, I find myself walking down memory lane…I see the Worcester of yesteryear, my family and friends alike, Venerini Academy (a school I never attended but knew that the two of you had), Shelleigh’s braid(s) and her trench-coat…her passions and compassions.
Of what you must be most proud is the number of references made about Shelleigh’s big heart and the various ways in which she touched all of our lives.
I can honestly say that over the years, each and every time when your sister and I would by chance encounter each other, be it on Main Street, walking down Chandler Street or over in the Mayfield Street area – regardless of the time of day – she’d give me one of those big boisterous greetings then on a serious note she’d ask how I was doing. And what touched me the most was that Shelleigh would always encourage me. She’d say, “Keep doing what you’re doing because whatever it is, it agrees with you.” And even though we’d laugh and go our separate ways, her words stayed with me.
Shelleigh was an enigma; she was a dynamic individual, a woman both fiery and spirited, a woman already sorely missed by those of us who knew and loved her.
Hang in there Mike. You’re in my thoughts and prayers ~

Dear Michael,
You don't know me but I was in stablization at the shelter with Shelleigh and have been close with her since then. She changed my life in a lot of ways and she was one of the only ones who took me under her wing when I first got to Worcester back in 2006. She was my next door neighbor in the stablization and when she moved on to bigger and better things, we kept in contact ever since. She was like my adopted big sister and she taught me a lot about life and honesty. I will miss her terribly and I would like to send you my condolances. I am so sorry for your loss. Shelleigh changed us all and her unselfish love brought us together into a little mismatched family.

Michael,
I just want to say, during the 30 some odd yrs I have known you, it was a pleasure knowing Shelly also. She was a unique and wonderful person, and I am sure she is going to be missed deeply by soo many. She touch the life's of soo many people in this big world we live in. You know, we all face life's twists and turns, some good and yet some not so good, but as for Shelly facing those twists and turns, good or bad, she always made the best of what ever was thrown her way, and she always knew how to make you smile.
As for you Michael, words can not even come close to expressing the pain and sorrow i feel for you. All i can say is you need to just try to remember all the good times you and Shelly had together. Most of all,you need to always remember, no matter what, you were always there for Shelly. We all know brothers and sisters have their good and bad days, but through it all you were ALWAYS there for her. It was YOU who supported and loved Shelly soo much. It was also YOU who made Shelly's world a much better place for her to live in. She could of never asked for a better brother than the one she had in you. I hope in time you can find comfort in knowing that you now have a guardian angel watching over you.

But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus.

Big Mike,
I am not sure if you will remember me by my name, but every time we'd run into one another at WSC... we always had a long, friendly conversation. I simply had to send you this message to say that I am so very, very sorry to hear about your beautiful sister, Shelleigh.
It seems to me that she made an impact on most everyone that she met, because so many friends & family (and strangers, too) are sharing their memories of her in this guest book. Clearly, she has left quite a legacy here in Worcester and beyond.
Mike, take comfort in the knowledge that your sister's genuine love for others has changed them for the better, opened their hearts, and caused them to embrace each other. Memories of Shelleigh will be intricately connected to these feelings...
You must be so proud of her, Mike, not many people can bring about this kind of change.
Someday, when God opens the Book of Life and judges each of us "by our fruit," I hope that mine is as abundant as Shelleigh's. What a blessing she was, and will CONTINUE to be, in the lives of all who knew her.
God bless you and your family.

We are so sorry to hear of the senseless death of your sister Shelly.
Many years ago she took the time on a rainy winter night to show my oldest daughter, Caitlin around the house at the reservation in Grafton. Big Mike, words alone can not express what I know you are feeling inside today. I too wish I could find the words to correctly express my condolences to you. Shell was one of the braviest persons I know. She was always so kind and loving toward everyone. She had told me once when I was a little girl..."not worry about what others thought because I am the only one who can live for me." Because of her I grew to have a confidence that has taken me far in my life. I will miss her in my heart.
Big Mike I know you have many at your side to support and help keep you strong thru this terrible time and beyond. If ever there is anything I could do for you, anything you could possibly need do not hesitate to contact me. Shell gave me something a long time ago that has lasted me through the years, I would like to repay her by being there for her brother whom she held so close to her heart as if both of yours beat as one. My prayers are with you Big Mike now and forever.

Michael,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Shelleigh's death. Shelleigh and I went to school together from Kindergarden at Venerini all the way to Holy Name. I will always remember Shelleigh's smile, her friendliness, her fierce loyalty to her friends and her wonderful athleticism. Although I had not seen Shelleigh for many years, I know that if I had I would have been greeted with that infamous smile and a big hug! It is strange and wonderful that people that we grow up with remain a part of us forever, even when time separates us. I can see Shelleigh in my mind as clearly as if I had seen her last week. I can remember 20 little girls at Venerini waving out the classroom window to you and your mother as you crossed the street - and Shelleigh was the tallest and the one making the most noise! Shelleigh was truly a good person with a golden heart. Please accept my sincere condolences and know that you and Shelleigh are in the hearts and prayers of the many people Shelleigh touched during her lifetime.

Mike I will always remember the great day we had this past summer at the lake. Shelleigh was so much fun to be around. Thank you for letting us have that time with you and Shelleigh. God will watch over her and I will keep her in my prayers.

Micheal,
I'm so sorry for your loss. I dont know what to say that could make this any easier so I wont, but I did write a poem about Shelleigh from when I was about 5 or 6 years old and surprisingly 19 years later I still remember. May you find comfort in reading it, like I did writing it.
FROM THE SKY
I'll never forget,
Even though I was a young girl.
I'll never forget,
Why I lost my balloon to the world.
To young to understand,
Why my balloon had to go.
To young to understand,
Then Shelleigh said so.
Shelleigh said,
Baby, It's all right.
Shelleigh Said,
She refused to see the sight.
Said to Mom and I that she'd be back
She refused to see me cry,
cause I was to young to understand,
Why I lost my balloon to the sky.
She turned and went,
back into The Fair.
Just to hurry back,
and see me cheer.
Shelleigh went and bought me,
a new balloon.
Shelleigh brought me the balloon,
just to change my mood.
I was too young to understand,
Why the new balloon stopped my cry.
Now I understand.
It wasn't the balloon that stopped my cry,
It was Shelleigh.
She is my angel from the sky!
My Condolences,
Erica Clay

Mickey,
I am so so sorry about Shelleigh, I know how much she meant to you, but just remember when you are feeling sad and alone, that there are alot of people out here just waiting and wanting to help you through. I'm just one of them. You have known me for what"30" plus years? Then i shouldn't have to tell you "I'm here" if you need a friend or just someone to talk to.I feel Shelleigh will always be right by your side, no matter where you are or where you may go, you should take comfort in knowing that you now have a guardian angel watching over you. I am sure she never did run that ad "looking for a new brother" for she would never find a better brother than the one she had in you.I send my deepest thoughts, prayers and love to you. "Just Me"

I am so sorry to hear about Shelleigh. I wish to send my sincere condolences to you and your family. I know that my husband (Jeff Ford) was extremely fond of your sister and what little time I spent around her was always fun and laughs. She called my husband last year when she heard of his illness and he was so happy to hear from her. She called several times after that, and even when he was too ill to talk to her she would check in with me on updates on him. The smile she brought to his face is something I will always be thankful to her for.
She was an Angel in my time of need.
May God bless your family in this time of sorrow.

Michael,
If ever there was a time to be strong, that time has come to you once more. I am so very sorry for Your loss.
Baby be strong and know you are not alone. Shelleigh was an angel, and God has called one of His most precious home.
There are no words that I can say at this time to make your heart lighter or to make you feel better; but I will say that if you need anything, all you need do is ask.
She has been taken from us much to soon for us to understand. So let us find some peace in knowing she is with your Mom and Grandmother.
Michael you are in my heart and on my mind.
I love you Shelleigh, and still think of you as my little sister, Peace baby girl you will be missed.
Mike remember Keep your head to the sky.
I Love you, Sunshine, Erica and Rob

Michael,
I can't find the words to express the sorrow my family and I feel. You are in our thoughts and prayers. God had a plan and it required that Shelly be by his side. As you struggle to find the answer "WHY" know that Shelly is in the arms of the almighty Father. Let me know if there's any thing I can do. Love your friend and sister.

I worked with Shelleigh over 15 years ago at Worcester State Hospital. She always impressed me with her ways of dealing with the troubled kids in that facility. I haven't seen her since but I remember that she was always very kind to me and I learned from her. What a terrible loss of a wonderful woman.

The salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, Because they trust Him. PSALM 37:39-40
Mike can't express the sorrow in my heart. May God guide you through this time. Remember the good things they help, like the time she was so angry with me about the lipstick on her shirt? remember?
