Monica Carter Obituary

Monica Carter, 39, died peacefully Monday, October 6, 2008. She is survived by a son and daughter, Bryce T. Carter and Whitney T. Carter; her father Joe Carter; her mother Rosemary (Buckley) Carter

all of Worcester; a brother and 4 sisters, Carl Carter of Worcester, Dorothy Humphries of Webster, Joanne Hampton and her husband Michael and their daughter Morgan of Las Vegas, NV; Janice Carter of Shrewsbury, and Angela Adam of Houston, TX; a grandson Kamary J. Carter-Mattox; and many cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews & nieces. Monica was born and raised in Worcester. She was a loving, kind hearted, gifted and creative person who also loved to sing and dance. Monica will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Sunday, October 12, at 5 p.m. A period of visitation with Monica's family will be held from 3-5 p.m at the funeral home prior to the memorial service. Its been a year and still the pain of losing my mother hurts as if it happened today. I live everyday hoping that I will wake up and see her face. I have struggled threw these last few weeks, trying not to relive that day, trying to erase the pain. But when I look back at how much pain she went threw I realize maybe i need to stop being so selfish because now shes in a better place. I will continue to heal slowly day by day and just be glad that she is in a better place.

Next month is coming very fast and I am not handling this well Monica. I am right now listening to our own personal song by Maxwell "Sumthin' Sumthin'" and I am looking at you. As I am listening I am thinking about all the good times we shared and even the bad times. I can agree with Keona about its so hard to come on here and I have shut myself down because you are not here. Its so hard for me not seeing you here but I am doing my best to not fall. No one seems to understand that you not being here has become very hard and since you left I can't stop the tears. Since you left you took me with you but I am fighting this battle everyday alone. I know you wouldn't want me to stay stuck but no matter who I am around or who I am with no one can take your place at all. I just want you to know that you will always remain in my heart where you are suppose to be and I don't care there is no one who can ever take your place not by a long shot. Monica and I met when she was a Sophomore and I a Freshmen, she took me under her wing like an older sister would do and we became friends.
