Kenneth Robinson Obituary

Kenneth F. "Robbie" Robinson, 83, of Worcester, died peacefully on Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

He leaves his wife of 62 years, Yvonne M. (Brunelle) Robinson, a daughter Annette C. Robinson and her close friend Brian Mura, a daughter-in-law Ethel Robinson, all of Worcester, two brothers, Albert Robinson of Cumberland, N.J. and Warren Robinson of North Port, Fla., five grandchildren, Keith Robinson, Sonya Robinson, Sarah Hoey, Adam Hoey, all of Worcester, and Leah Francis of Gloucester, three great-grandchildren, Cole, Evan and Kameron, nieces and nephews. His son Ernest J. Robinson, a Worcester firefighter, died in 1992. His brothers Everett, Lester, Raymond and William Robinson, also predeceased him.

He was born in Clinton, son of Ernest and Anna (Cox) Robinson, and lived in Worcester more than 60 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II assigned to ships with torpedo weapon systems.

Robbie worked for the former Mass. Electric Co. for 41 years, retiring in 1987 as overhead line supervisor.

He enjoyed the great outdoors and was an avid sportsman. He liked hunting, fishing and camping. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a loyal friend. His most important priority was spending time with his family.

Calling hours at the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home, 12 Hammond St., Worcester, are Tuesday, Oct. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 15 from the funeral home with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 25 Fales St., Worcester. I am truely saddened to learn of the passing of my friend Ken. He was a wonderful, likeable guy who I always enjoyed being around.
Over the years we shared many of deer, caribou and goose hunts together. These are the memories of him that I shall keep close to my heart.
Kenny was a true gentleman from the greatest generation. I will miss him..................
