Irene DiMasi Obituary

Irene A. (Hoel) DiMasi, 90, of Worcester, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, in Radius Health Care of Worcester, after a long illness. Her husband, A. Neil DiMasi died in 1990.

She leaves her daughter, Joan DiMasi and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and Alfred Hoel. She was born in Uxbridge, a daughter of Albert and Amanda (Ledoux) Hoel and lived in Worcester for over fifty years.

Mrs. DiMasi worked for S.S. Kresgee Co. and later for Friendly's Ice Cream Co. before retiring in 1982. She attended Uxbridge High School. Irene was a member of St. Stephen's Church. She was a longtime supporter of Opera Worcester and also enjoyed playing bingo. She was an avid Red Sox fan.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 14, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St, with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. in St. Stephen Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour in the funeral home is Tuesday, October 14 from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association of Massachusetts, 460 Totten Pond Road, Suite 400, Waltham, MA 02451-1991.
