Walter Maki Obituary

Walter W. Maki, passed away on October 12, 2008 in St. Vincent Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret (Ingram) Maki; a son Robert Maki & and wife Gail of Rutland; a daughter Gayle Ostiguy & her husband Rene of New Braintree; a sister Sylvia Chambers & her husband John of Salem, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Missy Katon, Jason Maki & Kevin Rose; several great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter Diane in November 2007.

Walter was a WWII US Navy Veteran and member of the North Brookfield VFW. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in North Brookfield, the North Brookfield Sportsman Club, the Warren Senior Center and a member and past Master of the Meridian Sun Lodge. Walter was an avid golfer, enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008 at 11:00 in Walnut grove Cemetery and a memorial service will be held on November 1, 2008 at 10:300AM in at the Masonic Lodge of Masons in North Brookfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Congregational Church, Main St., North Brookfield, MA. 01535. Pillsbury Funeral Home, 44 Gilbert St., North Brookfield is directing arrangements.
