Nathaniel Williams Obituary

Nathaniel "Nate" Alan Williams, 27, of 3 Blueberry Lane, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 in the Bay State Franklin Medical Center, Greenfield.

"Nate to one and all" loved the outdoors. He was an avid hiker of the trail, and fly fisherman with a vast knowledge of birds, butterflies and other wildlife. Nate loved to play guitar and had a genius for composing his own songs and performing them for family and friends. His friends and family were the love of his life.

He leaves his parents, David A. and Susan M. (Borko) Williams with whom he lived; a brother, Toby Williams of Shelburne Falls; two sisters, Heather B. Kimball and her husband Greg of Millbury and Holly J. Williams of Framingham; his maternal grandmother, Helen R. (Stomski) Borko of Shrewsbury; an aunt, Carol A. Borko of Shrewsbury; and two nieces, Lily and Ally Kimball. He was a 1998 graduate of Wachusett Regional High School and attended Worcester State College.

Nate always enjoyed the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics and loved watching games with his family and friends. He had a great interest in and loved to read classic literature and enjoyed playing classic games including chess and marbles. He always got tremendous pleasure from playing with and reading to his nieces. He will be forever in our hearts, in the stars that twinkle at night, and the butterflies that fly by day.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours from 5 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 16th, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The funeral service for Nate will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 17th, in the funeral home with long time family friend, The Rev. Dr. Kenneth Swenson officiating. Burial following in Rural Cemetery, Rutland. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Massachusetts Audubon Society, 208 South Great Road, Lincoln, MA 01773.

To The Williams Family,
My heart goes out to you all.
Nate, my kindred spirit friend of the universe, I'll never forget the talks we have shared of many common interests, as we would smile, laugh, eyes open , at times, closed. The stars, the shooting stars, phases of the moon. Respect of Mother Earth, love of nature, and all living things.
There is a special galaxy for the brightest, spirited ones, the special stars. The shinniest and brightest one is you, dear one, as I look and smile, and wave hello. For all to see, and smile, and think of you, and all that you have touched, and will continue to do so.
Spirited one, I finished writing my special song for you. As I sing and play my guitar, you will know it's from me, for you.
That star, the brightest of all , will continue to make the world a "special" place, warming all hearts and souls.
I'll always scence your spirit around.
We will continue to keep in touch, I'm sure of it.
May Peace and Love continue.... deep in your soul.

Mr. and Mrs. Williams, Toby, Heather, and Holly...

Nate was a great kid, a great friend, and more of a brother than a friend. I wanted to write here to tell all of you that he loved all of you more than anything in his life. He had respect and love unlike anyone that I had ever met before. He could play music and write music so amazingly well and his songs will be in out minds and thoughts. I will greatly miss playing music with him, and so will everyone who ever heard his music.

I have love for all of you in my heart, and my family sends their best regards.

With all the love in my heart, sleep well my friend, later days until we meet again.

Dear Sue, Dave, Toby, Holy & Heather,

I am so saddened by this heart-breaking news. Nathaniel was such a part of Nick's childhood. He was a joy to have around. When people asked me if the two boys were twins, I often said "Yes!" I cannot imagine what you are going through. If there is anything I could possibly do to help, I would be thrilled to be able to.

You are in my prayers, that you will find the strength you need to get through these difficult times.

Love, Sue

To The Williams Family: Nate was truly a unique person and will be missed. I grew up knowing him in Rutland, and had some classes at Wachusett with him as well. Every Christmas I think of something he said during our biology lab, that he never cared about if he got presents, and he loved nothing more than to watch his family open gifts and to see their expressions. There should be more selfless people like him, and he was taken far too soon. I will keep all of you in my prayers during this difficult time. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Dear Sue and David and family, We are so saddened to hear of the death of Nathaniel. We have such wonderful memories of our time spent with him growing up along with your whole family. We particularly remember him talking non-stop about "the great-white sharks" and how he loved all the stories that went with them. I remember him with his beautiful long blond curls sitting in his high-chair with the one-piece sleeper. During his short life he could not have had a more wonderful and loving family. A lot of people live a whole lifetime and never experience what he had. You will all be in our thoughts and prayers. We love you all. The Travers family
